Went out to vegas on Memorial day and stayed til Thursday afternoon. I absolutely love that place and usually make the trip 2 times a year. Found out that Obama was gonna be at Caesars palace on Tuesday so tried to catch a glimpse of him, to no avail though. Lots of protesters outside though right along the strip. Stayed at the Mirage this time, if anyone cares! It is crazy the amount of construction going on right on the strip. They are building like (3) 50 story buildings with thousands of rooms. Was reading the brouchure while in my hotel room and one can be bought for $500,000! I think that every women gets a pedicure before they do to vegas cause OMG the toes looked amazing. I tried to get some candid photos, but only 2 of them turned out. By far the most popular "look" is the french pedi! Simply amazing. Oh yeah, seen 2 Elvis' as well! Not really sure why i made this thread, but love vegas and wanted to see if anyone else wanted to add anything.

Been there twice in my short time on Earth and I might be going back next year. Vegas ROCKS and the decadence has to be seen to be believed. Monte Carlo in the U.S.A.! [Evil Grin]

I want to move there but i recently watched the documentary "Lost vegas" and it seemed to scare me off from that idea quite a bit.It is available online and talks about our economy and and how hard las vegas has taken the recent downturn.Apparently many of those buildings under construction you saw have been put on hold for some time. Then again the video could have been made a while ago so who knows. If anyone has any insight on it i would be very insterested.

I read online that the job growth there and several other areas out west is rising. I was just offered a job right outside of Vegas and am taking it.

i was there last year in the fall as well and the rise of the new buildings on the strip seems to have moved forward full steam. i know for some reason though it did take them like 5 years to build this walgreens right by the venetian! every 6 months i would go back, still under construction! i don't really get why they built the encore casino/hotel, its the same thing as the wynn. as long as they keep the little casinos, casino royale, osheas, bills gamblin hall, i will be fine. those seem to give me the most luck gambling.

Is the job market there doing better? was it ever bad.the only reason i am asking is because LV is the one places i get really strongly worded conflicting opinions.

yeah, its hard to get a job here, just like where else...

in some industries youll have a best shot than others...it all depends on what kind of job youre looking to get

I go there 5 or 6 times a year for fun and foot-related things & i LOVE it. I've wanted to live there for a long time & will probably move there soon.
