My home preferred beer 'Millers Chill' still hasn't changed but it's a lil' heavy on the ol' pocket. So as of late been drinkin' 'MAXX Blonde'.
 - -

When I'm out it's 'Carlton Draught' on tap.
 -

Not your typical spirit drinker but tried 'Makers Mark' (+ 30/70 coke mixed) which was quite nice [Mmm]

I drink maybe a couple of beers in a week and never get drunk. I usually have this in my fridge though.

 -

A friend of mine commented a few years back after noting I had the same full bottles of liquor week after week that he wanted my liver if he ever needed a transplant in the future. [Laugh]

Since I moved to Alberta( from other side of country) I had to alter my beer of choice. I like the micro brewed beers here but there is a beer from British Columbia called Kokanee. Such a great beer to just sip on and relax after a long ass day lugging pipe around.

I'm not a hard liquor guy but when I do happen to get in the mood for some I grab some Seagrams 83 Whiskey and mix it with White Cranberry juice.

I like drinking this on weekends while cooking outside or working on my car.

 -
I want that glass.

This is my favorite beer. Unfortunately, once I moved to Vegas, I'm only able to drink this beer once a year, which is when I go home to Pittsburgh to visit family. This beer is unavailable in the west.

Love some Newcastle from time to time too ftlckr!

Nusuth, I tried a coffee lager as well once and just about gagged myself sick.

Ok, for the brave who want to try the most god awful tasting bitter beer give this a shot. I like to mix and match beers at Central Market and I picked up Old Rasputin Stout one time just because of the label. This stuff burned going down and tasted of used paint thinner. My suggestion is for the hard core drinking guys serve this up with some of your buddies and see who can quaff it down first.

^^I had a bad beer experience a couple months back. DUFF. Was initially buying it as a novelty item and was about to buy a whole slab (slab = 24 box Australian term), but was a lil' expensive so just to trial bought a 6 pack. If homer drinks DUFF, so will I. He is my favorite chacracter in The Simpsons. Lucky enough I didn't buy a slab. The beer tastes shit! [Puke]

i didnt even realize anyone was making duff beer.

LeDaemon, burns like hard spirits??? how odd. what was the taste like?

Posted by LeDaemon (Member # 198) on :

It was a dreadful taste, but it was a couple of years back that I actually had the stuff so I don't really remember. If you've had Arrogant Bastard Ale before it has a worse taste than that stuff.

I don't do the novelty beers or random weird named beers such as "arrogant bastard ale" lol just asking for a bad time

Being Canadian I do prefer to support the Local Breweries so I do enjoy Mooshead lager and Alexander Keiths. I also alternate to some other microbreweries. However Ever time I'm in the USA for a few days I pick up a 24 of Sam Adams, Way to expensive to buy it here as an import.

You from Nova Scotia quantamq? I like Keiths but it doesn't agree with me so I can't drink it lol I'm all about the Moose Light and Alpine too! I'm from PEI btw

Not a beer drinker and pretty much a teatotaller. I'm lucky if I have a few drinks a year. I'm into frozen fruity drinks with umbrellas: piņa coladas and strawberry daiquiris.

I've had that on a few occasions Bondo.

I'm surprised you liked it. From my memory its still the foulest beer I've had. [Laugh]

Currently in my fridge is Warsteiner Dunkel

At a German Restaurant in town I go to every once in a while where they serve it by the litre.

Got some honey mead the other month when we were visiting wineries...shit's sweet as hell, but nice in small doses [Smile]

Mead is sooo good, but a bit pricey for a beer drinker.

Well in the land down under beer is pretty damn cheap if you drink local stuff...but I'm a cider guy. And ciders come in at upwards of AUD$8 a bottle - the most expensive I've had was $12 I think - would have been Bulmers.

I mean, I have a 3-4 drink limit when I go out really, not into getting smashed, so I see it as spending as much as other people (possibly less) who get wasted and are fucked up with hangovers for the proceeding 24 hours meaning I also have a better time.

Actually, that's one little niggle I have haha - Aus has a license to brew Bulmers locally and it is nothing in comparison to the proper stuff - you can get imported, but at even more of a premium.

Anyway, back on track, I think a bottle of mead direct from the winery set me back like $16 or something, so not bad at all [Smile]

Me personally I enjoy Blue Moon and Corona. I used to be big into Killian's. But since I'm a broke ass, nothing gets the job done like some good ole Natural Ice.

Posted by LeDaemon (Member # 198) on :

Blue Moon is alright, but they always "gay it up" with a slice of orange on the rim when I order one with dinner. [Laugh]

Never acquired a taste for beer; was always able to distinguish the different flavors but never enjoyed it.

I am a Bourbon drinker. Favorites include Elijah Craig, Ezra Brooks, 1792 (named for the year Kentucky became a state), Maker's Mark, and Knob Creek. Old Grandad 114 is delicious and dangerous. Jim Beam makes some very fine "small batch" bourbons but stay away from the swill usually found at any dive bar.

Bourbon, like beer, is an acquired taste. Beer drinkers tend to take a bite of their drink; if you try Bourbon, just sip.

And, yes, I'm enjoying some Bourbon now.
