I agree. Just like the rest of my wife's body I prefer (as she does) to be clean, soft, smooth and sweet smelling. To her it's a hallmark of being feminine. But as Wrinklesguy said, I'd gladly take a little roughness or callouses if she was running around barefoot more outside.

I prefer soft & silky soles but I'm not in disagreement with rough and calloused soles. I found them sexy too and enjoy taking care of them.

I definitely have to go with Soft & Silky, mel6677. Nothing personal against Betty or anything...I just don't think I'd enjoy the feel of rough, calloused soles against my face.

Depends on the setting of the photo and the style of the woman. If it`s indoors I prefer soft soles, but outdoors rough/dirty soles look great and just seem natural.
The second photo is great --- Betty is a cutie.

I prefer rough, tough and callused soles. Somehow they look "more interesting" this way; besides, I like the girls who like to walk barefoot, and they usually have tougher soles. Very soft, overpedicured and overpampered soles look somehow boring, because they all look almost the same.
Too bad for me that most people, including the ladies, prefer soft soles, therefore, it's a rare ocasion to satisfy my interest :-(.

All of the above...I have more experience with "indoor"-type feet, but I love looking at barefooters or hippie chicks who wear flips or sandals all the time. Their feet have personality. Also, callouses are kind of like a tan line. They tell me that the chick's been running around naked (barefoot) a lot. That's hot.
But that only goes as far as callouses. Bunions or feet scraped raw by shoes, etc. - no thank you

What kinda person doesn't like french fries?
I can deal with either as long as the roughness isn't something obviously extreme. Something minor is workable in my opinion. Look at any attractive girl out in public or in a club or at school or wherever. If you walked over and checked her feet right there and then, you'd probably have about a 50-50 chance of them being smooth and soft. That's life.

I'm all about the soft,silky smooth soles rather than rough soles. Dont get me wrong, a little roughness can be expected around the pinky toe and the heel is expected but an overabundance is not cool at all.

This "dead" skin is a protective layer, and it doesn't necessarilly look unhealthy. Hair and nails (finger- or toe-) are also "dead", but they don't look unhealthy, do they?
I think, this whole argument is pointless. Everybody has his/her own preferences. It's like arguing over what is more preferable - apples or pears; green color or yellow color, etc. (unless, of course, you want to go into details about skin function, foot biomechanics and the likes).
And I don't dislike soft soles.
