I was looking around in the On Demand section of my cable box this week and saw Thundercats listed in the kids section. I sometimes go there to find some animated comic shows like Batman. I had seen Thundercats listed many times. I even watched a show or two as I liked it when I was a kid.
This time however, I saw the show was from 2011 and it piqued my interest. I hit play and hoped for the best. After all, so many reboots can be just bad - especially when you're grown up and the material is something you cherished as a kid.
Well, there was only one show, but it was a part 1 and part 2 that set the stage. And it was pretty good. It's quite a bit darker with only a little bit of cheese. And they even got the actor who voiced Lion-O in the original to voice Lion-O's father in this one (nice touch).
Check it out if you're a fan of Thundercats and animation.
