i've always thought the little dudes were kind of neat and especially when they evolve.. but the games themselves.. they all seemed the same and very repetitive. just my $0.02.

A lot of people seem to think that the games haven't changed since the Red/Blue days. While the base gameplay is still somewhat similar throughout the main series, the core gameplay has changed drastically. In fact, if you played any of the 4th generation games (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, and remakes HeartGold and SoulSilver) and then went back to play Red, Blue, or Yellow, you would find them almost unplayable (unless you have nostalgia goggles). There has been many changes to the metagame since those days, but only fans of the series would know about them.

Wasn't a poke' fan but I had an injury sometime last year which had me home for 3 whole months . Was skimming through games and immediately got hooked onto 'Pokemon Leaf Green'. Took me 2weeks (of an average time of 5hrs per day give-or-take) to get through and complete the the game and thanks to that, they would chew up 2 enjoyable weeks of recovery time.
