I will be the first to admit, outside my beloved Zelda titles, I don't really dig the newer generation Nintendo stuff as much as I did back in the day. Honestly, I think since SNES I have not loved a Nintendo console as much as its competition.

Anyhow, I finally logged my Wii online the other day to see how much it would cost to buy some of the original NES/SNES games that I did like - mainly Zelda ones. I ended up buying Zelda 1 and 2 for $5 each and Zelda 3 (SNES) for $8. I have been one to bitch at Nintendo for putting out their old games for prices that were not worthy. For instance, when Excitebike was put out on GBA, they wanted $20. Are you kidding? I bought the Sega Classic PS3 game for $20 and got like 50 or more games on it, including all the Sonic, Altered Beast, Golden Axe, etc. games. So I won't complain about them being only $5. LOL

Anyone else download any good old games on their Wii? I also went and got Samauri Shodown 1, 2 and 3 as well. Was thinking about getting Super Ghosts n' Goblins from the SNES. I played the original on the NES and Ghouls n' Ghosts on the Genesis. Never the SNES one though.

Yep. I've downloaded Super Mario RPG, Sin and Punishment, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Zelda: Majora's Mask, Star Fox 64, Ristar, and Megaman. Great service. Wish they would update it more often. ...And put Earthbound and Donkey Kong 64 up on it.

I was thinking of downloading Mario RPG. I have never played it, but still have 1500 points yet unspent. I don't like Final Fantasy games, past or present, so I wasn't sure if I should bother. What do you think?

I've got the original Super Mario RPG. It's a fun little game. Not really difficult, and not a lot of "leveling up" required to get through it.

Plus, Bowser is a playable character. It's like using Magus in Chrono Trigger...except cooler.

It's one of my favorite games ever. But maybe I'm biased because it was the very first RPG I've ever played.

Squaresoft developed the game, and aside from a cameo boss battle with a dropped Final Fantasy villain, the game doesn't really have anything to do with Final Fantasy. The battles are turn-based, but also interactive; you have to press certain buttons at the right time to either do more damage, heal more health (in the case of healing moves), or guard from certain attacks.

This game also started the Seven Stars fetch quest that the Paper Mario games adopted.

Cool. I didn't mean that the game was like Final Fantasy in any other way than the 30 minute trash mob turned based battles.
