Borrowed this one from a buddy of mine. Finished both story modes and was a lil' too short and easy on defalt difficulty which I think is medium/normal. I think there's too mamy combos to remember and in the midst of learning your current character, you're switching to another character every few fights which I think doesn't help my interests. I just stick to the basic foundation of all fighting games and got through it ok. From this point it's below expectations but still have to go arcade mode where the fatalities are. Upside I think you can combo combos which I think can create more damage but crap if you're on the recieving end of one and especially when you can't block while still in the air falling or already on the ground.

I'm gonna go to Arcade mode and see how it goes. Startin' off none other than the man himself "SUB ZERO" [Thumbs Up]

I am a huge MK fan...have been since MK 1 debuted back in the day when Quarter arcades were still in the malls of America. I am also a huge comic book fan, and collector. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when this game was announced.

I bought it on it's release day, and played it many times over in both story and arcade modes. I did not expect too much from it given it was a crossover with DC/Warner Bros...so I knew it meant the violence and fatalities would be toned down. I still enjoyed the game, and I really enjoyed playing the DC characters. It was fun to see them in action and see their powers used. I was not expecting to be blown away or expecting a lot from the game. I took it for what it was, and simply had fun with it.

I enjoyed playing a few favorite characters and as such learned them from top to bottom....like Sub Zero, the Flash, Captain Marvel, and Scorpion. The others I knew their moves but was not as adept at playing them, esp. online against others.

Overall, I did enjoy the game and was proud to add it to my collection. Of course once the new Mortal Kombat arrived, it was quickly put to the way side to make room for that game which for me as a return to form and it's roots for MK fans.

I hope you enjoy the Arcade mode with SubZero.

Regards,
2swift

I didn't really dig it as much as I should have. 2swift I guess I don't have the same amount of respect for the game as you do. Tried the 2 fatalities subzero has as I wasn't as impressed. I guess I set my expectations too high. I was a big fan of MK 1 and 2 but never played anything after that til now fighting game wise.... although I've played Shaolin Monks a few years back via PS2 which I guess is a 3 person action/adventre.

I still enjoy playing MK2 via MAME emulator and have a 6 button box arcade controller so I don't have to re-learn my old skool basics.

My "Good Points" Recap:
* Combos are great
* Getting to fight and use superheroes
* Sonia Blade has nice titties [Big Grin]

If you are going to play any Mortal Kombat game, play the newest one, the remake. As far as I'm concerned, that is the best MK game ever made and more than lives up to the legacy of it's predecessors. The fatalities are sick and the story mode is actually really enjoyable here.

^^I'll keep that in mind when picking another game. But the next fight games I'm after is 1stly "Super Street Fighter 4" and "Streetfighter X Tekken". I've played SFvsTekken at the stores demo but think it's more streetfighter, like the capablilites, gameplay have gotten Tekken to step into the Streetfighter relm" as DC into MK. I'll have a full review when that time rolls around.

Other than that, I'll look out for the Latest of the MK series.

I hated Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe and I'm a huge comic book fan and love Mortal Kombat. That being said, however, the new Mortal Kombat is one of the most amazing fighters I've ever played. Get that one and buy the Marvel vs. Capcom and you'll have two of the best fighters created, in my opinion.
