Guys, this is such a major disaster, perhaps we should kick in and help.
I challenge WU and all , and I mean all, foot websites that make money, to set aside 15% of profits and donate it to the Red Cross or a fund WU can organize, and donate to the Red Cross and other reputable organizations bringing disaster relief.
And those of you running foot sites outside the United States can also set aside 15% of your profit and forward it to WU to be distributed to the Red Cross.
This could amount to thousands of much needed dollars. And, if I may be so bold, i suggest none of us "foot consumers" buy from any site that does not contribute to relief efforts.
There are times when all of us need to kick in and help. There are i'm sure a lot of foot guys in the hurricane ravaged areas of the American Gulf Coast - and if for no other reason, help them.
Wu, why don't you set up a clicker on your main page to help in this effort?

NOW LET'S SEE THE ENTIRE FOOT COMMUNITY, ESPECIALLY THE ONES MAKING MONEY, RALLY TO THE POOR FOLKS OF THE GULF COAST AND NEW ORLEANS.
SITES LIKE EXTREME FEET, AND Fm CONCEPTS AND SO MANY OTHERS MAKE TONS OF MONEY. NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. BUT 15% OF THEIR PROFIT COULD GO TO DISASTER RELIEF FOR NEW ORLEANS FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE - AND ALSO DEMONSTRATE THAT THOSE OF US WHO LIKE PRETTY FEMALE FEET CARE ABOUT OUR FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS.
CAN YOU HELP WU???
I NOTICED THAT AFTER 9-11 , NIGHTHAWK DID SOMETHING ON HIS SITE TO HELP NEW YORK CITY.
NOW IT'S TIME FOR NEW ORLEANS

Thanks for putting up this post. You are right and I actually do have family in New Orleans. My mom's whole side of the family is there, but they did get out safe and are all in Texas now staying with relatives.
I know a little bit of the behind the scenes stuff that happens around here and I can assure that a very large number of people at this particular board have made VERY generous contributions!
I won't mention names, but we are well into the thousands of dollars in personal and professional donations from this board.
It will never be enough no matter how much we give, but I know the people here and they were all on the ball doing everything they could before most of the major news was even reported.
Thank you for the post and if anyone has anything to give and help out, please do!

thanks DJ. i'm glad to hear members of the community are contributing on their own.
what i'm talking about however is an organized effort on the part of commercial foot webmasters to set aside 15% of their profit, and forward it to WU for contribution to REd Cross and other repubable relief organizations.
can we do this?
Wu? are you there man?

I don't want to speak for Wu, but he is really busy and may not have the time to collect and organize money from so many different sources.
This is a subject that he and I have discussed recently and I just doubt that he, or anyone for that matter would want to oversee a large incoming cash flow. I know I wouldn't!
Even though we all know that we are honest people (most of us anyway), when one person has the responsibility of controlling large amounts of money, there are ALWAYS problems!
I would just urge everyone to donate to the Red Cross and ask that each individual webmaster and each member of this board to do anything they can, no matter how small, to help out with the relief efforts.
Like I said, I hate to speak for Wu, but I have a feeling that he will agree with me! If I am wrong, Wu please chime in and let me know!
