I think they have gone to white ankle socks or knee-highs. I would love to get a sniff of RN's white socks after 12 hours in the ER! The knee-highs must give them a nice odor...

One problem with the *generally* lovely imagery of a lovely buxom blonde in the old style of nurses outfit with lovely sweaty feet and footware would be the imagery of that 350pound Maiden Nurse, the one who forces you to do as you are told.

I think it has been a long time since nylons have been worn by nurses. I've been to the hospital a few times and I've never seen any nurses wearing nylons, or any type of sexy shoes.
A female I know works as an RN. I remember seeing her after her night shifts and she would be wearing sneakers or some type of athletic shoes. The only thing that is good is the fact that she is a real "barefoot girl". If she had her way, she'd not wear shoes at all because she likes the feel of being barefoot and different sensations on her feet,... which definitely helped when it came to sucking on her toes!

suffice it to say... i have done enough in health care to know... hose aren't a thing of the past.. just a dying breed. i've seen some really nicely hosed clad nurses in skirted scrubs (looks lot nicer than it sounds)... and nice footwear (in the ER at that)
