I'm not sure what you're getting at. A lot of women are into shoes. Some are even a bit obsessive about them. However, I don't think a woman's thing for shoes is in any way indicative of a fetish. No more so than a guy who's into collecting basketball sneakers. A "sneaker head" will check out and even admire another dudes kicks and there's nothing remotely sexual about it. I think the term fetish gets used a little too loosely sometimes.

Agreed. The term "fetish" gets overused quite a bit around here. Just because McCain's daughter is a "shoe fanatic" doesn't mean that shoes get her off.

Pretty much just reaffirming what everybody else has said. Being a shoe fanatic has absolutely nothing to do with feet - certainly, if you're a girl, anyway.
Nothing sexual whatsoever - she just likes shoes...

On a side note, what's really cool is, well yeah a shoe obsession the way girls see it is NOT a fetish, but many are starting to use that terminology and the word fetish is starting to have different connotations than what it denotatively means. Basically girls that obsess over shoes are starting to refer to it as a shoe fetish even though that isn't what it really is. Hell, I'm all for fetish being thrown around with different connotations, just one way to make fetishes seem not so weird anymore.

I've known a number of women that have amassed a huge collection of shoes. They buy shoes that they know they will never, ever wear.
It's rather like the classic image of the miser who accumulates vast hordes of gold, with no intention of spending it. Just having the gold is the thing that gratifies them.
Hope I'm not "ganging-up" on you, here. A collection of any set of objects isn't indicative of any particular bent. Depends upon the individual.
