Women turn to botox to repair feet damaged by high heels

The chemical, more commonly used to fight wrinkles, is injected into the balls of women's feet to firm up tissue damaged by their painful footwear.
Doctors are warning that the condition - known as "stilettotarsal" - will become more common as heels get higher and women wear them more often.
The Birkdale Clinic in Crosby, Merseyside, have seen a 20 per cent increase in the number of women in their 40s asking for the £295 procedure, which is popular in the US.
Marie Jenkins, patient coordinator at the clinic, said that the "foot filler" could become as common as breast enlargements or facelifts in years to come.
"The balls of the feet take a lot of pounding in high heels but some women refuse to give up them up," she said.
"They are an integral part of a woman's outfit and so women put up with the pain. But now they see they can do something about it by opting to have the extra padding."
A recent study found that almost half of women in Liverpool and Manchester wore heels all week long.
Problems caused by high heel shoes cost £29 million a year in corrective foot surgery, figures have shown.
Botox is more commonly used as a non-surgical way to treat the signs of ageing, including worry and frown lines, crow's feet or other wrinkles.
Using a micro-needle, minute amounts of Botulinum Toxin are injected into specific area of the body. The Botox relaxes those muscles and stops them forming lines and wrinkles, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

I wonder if something like this will be commonplace down the road.Do many of you encounter alot of feet you find unattractive from high heels?

Injected? Don't like the sound of that! It would be nice if it was a cream, or lotion, that could be rubbed onto the feet.

Had a woman offer to get bunion surgery for me - It wasn't that bad, she thought so tho. I guess that is all that matters.

I love women in high heels - ouch!

It's actually been reported that BOTOX itself is considered poisonous. And as far as damage goes, the bones fracture causing "heel spurs". I honestly don't think I'd pay X amount of dollars just to have 30 days of relief and the ability to wear high heels again. Everything in moderation I always say..

Ahem, would you like me to take my shoes off and mess with your mind a bit?
