We have our match set up for The Ceremonies. It will be Farrah Fawcett vs. Raquel Welch. I guess it seems fitting that the two ladies who have averaged more votes than any other woman in this contest will face each other in the final stage of Fashionistas -- The Vintage Edition.

Those numbers shows that these two are virtually identical when it comes to the number of people willing to support these two. Only a strand of hair has Farrah ahead. So in The Ceremonies, it's still either Farrah's or Raquel's game.
These two have faced each other before. It was in the second week of the second round, in where Fawcett won by a single vote. Since then we have averaged more voters in the competition, giving me more reason to believe that this match next week will go either way.

The Ultimate Icon of the 1960s meets THE Sex Symbol of the 1970s. It has all come down to this very moment. Betty Page and Marilyn Monroe had to step aside for the two presented to us for the final showcasing between Farrah and Raquel.
Both have (for the most part) made their competitions look weaker than the rest of the 14 women who have participated in this contest. Fawcett comes into the Finals undefeated, while Raquel's only loss was to Fawcett (by one vote).

Thanks, National for providing these clips. At first I wasn't sure who I wanted to vote for. The clips made my assessments better. They served as great reminders as to how they looked and sounded when they were in their primes. That cartoon was so funny. I had a great laugh watching it. But that last clips with those two sleeping side by side ... WOW! They got a little touchy-touchy with each other, didn't they?
How did you know about this scene, National. I never knew they shared a scene together. It was that same Farrah that was very, very sweet and innocent looking and sounding. Just like she was in that Dating Game clip, which was also hilarious!
Farrah is undefeated? Come to think of it, she is. It would be a bummer if she lost the final match. Good luck to both women.

Raquel Welch and Fawcett in the same BED? Like foot_fashion_industry, I never knew this happened. And did you listen to what Farrah said at 2:58 in the clip? Holy smokes! There's nothing you can do except be at a lost for words. I think this will go down in my top 5 of the best scene I've seen, foot fetish related or not.
That clip should make this match more interesting to see how it all unfolds. After seeing it, I had a harder time deciding who to vote for. Raquel seemed to be the leader of the two and I like that she was in charge and seemed to be the one with all the answers Farrah wanted to hear. But Farrah was so soft and silky in that clip.
That Raquel clip from that game show was pretty neat. That Fawcett game show clip, again, was priceless.
I'm going with Raquel in this one. But that decision was not easy. I went back and forth on this one for a while. I think her features are more strikingly intimidating than those of Farrah. If those two were in some comic book movie, Farrah would've been more likely to play the role of a superhero, while Raquel would play the role of the super villain. That's super demanding and sexy.
I never liked Raquel with her hair cut short. I had no idea what she was thinking? But with her hair long the way she had it in her prime, becomes hard for a lot of guys to resist.
I'm going for Welch.

My vote goes for Farrah Fawcett. I think because of her passing earlier this year will become a factor when people make their decisions between those two. And I think she's more attractive with better looking feet of the two.

I just love watching these clips. The last one with those two is mesmerizing. And after watching that cartoon, I would've tried Farrah Fawcett shampoo for Men had the thing been in stock. These clips makes the finals more interesting to watch.

That last clip.... what the hell was that about? NICE! That got my attention.
My vote went for Fawcett. I think she will pull this off. But Raquel is really giving it to her, though. Her fans, it appears to have come alive. They are doing what they can hope for and have her win it all. However, I think Fawcett's supporters are somewhere in the hiding and will help her rally to a win.

I think I like Raquel Welch better. I think when both were in their primes, Raquel's sexual appeal was more intimidating than Farrah's. When I see Raquel's pictures when she was young in the 60's, I find myself saying WOW. I don't get quite that feeling with Farrah. With her it's more on the beautiful, more calm side. With Raquel, I feel is more "raw", more attention grabbing.
I can understand why anyone would pick Farrah over Raquel. But I'm going with Welch.

I can't believe another contest is coming to an end. This has been a great mini version of your contest, something that should help us speed through the rest of the year so that the original version, that features today's hot bods, is up and running again, where Megan Fox looks to successfully defend her title of World's Sexiest Feet.
But in a bit, we are on the verge of crowning a figure who's already iconic. Either Fawcett or Welch. Whoever wins, truly deserves it. And I can't wait to see what speech National is going to put together when this version's champion is crowned.
I also thank Dougiezerts for having the time and appreciation of reminding everyone who these women were and how much they inspired actresses of the future to become as big as they are today.

She was selected as one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in film history by Empire magazine (ranked at #18), and came in THIRD in Playboy's roundup of the 100 Sexiest Stars of the Century. Hugh Hefner himself described her as "magical," and judging from looking at her pictures that I will provide in a few minutes, we certainly see what he meant.

She competed in beauty contests as a teenager, and was crowned Miss Fairest of the Fair, Miss Maid of California, and Miss Contour, a title that would accurately foreshadow what much of her early career was built upon.
Marrying her high-school sweetheart James Welch in 1959, the couple had a son and a daughter before divorcing in 1964. Raquel had done some professional modeling, but, with two kids in tow, had to take a job as a waitress in order to help pay the bills.
In 1962, she moved to Hollywood where she met her manager and future (second) husband Patrick Curtis three days after her arrival in Tinseltown. With Curtis behind her, Raquel Welch's acting career started taking off. After an appearance in LIFE Magazine wearing only a bikini, she became the "Billboard Girl" on ABC's The Hollywood Palace.
Welch's big screen debut came in 1964, in an uncredited role in the Elvis Presley vehicle Roustabout. After a few more minor parts, she was signed by 20th Century Fox, and was featured in the 1966 sci-fi film Fantastic Voyage. Her next role established her as a '60s sex goddess. As Loana the cavegirl in the British-made One Million Years B.C., Welch's on-screen wardrobe consisted of little more than a couple of strips of fur, constituting a prehistoric bikini fantasy.
Few people actually went to see the movie, but the film's poster gave the actress ample exposure. She and Curtis remained in Europe, tying the knot in Paris in 1967, and issuing some steamy publicity photos of their wedding night. Welch next appeared as Lillian Lust in the British 1967 comedy Bedazzled, personifying one of the seven deadly sins. After roles in a couple of American movies, she returned to the U.K. in 1969 to make a cameo as the Priestess of the Whip in The Magic Christian, co-starring Peter Sellers and Ringo Starr.
In an ill-fated attempt to break free of the sex kitten stereotype, Welch landed her first real starring role in 1970's Myra Breckenridge. The film was a commercial and critical flop, and may best be remembered for the off-screen feud between her and the sex bombshell of the 1930s, Mae West.
Welch appeared in a few more American films before divorcing hubby/manager Curtis, and returned to Europe in 1972. Raquel found herself in the unusual position of being a household name, but starring in films that not many people went to see. She received the recognition she sought as an actress when she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her performance in 1973's The Three Musketeers.
She starred in the sequel the following year, and returned to the US to co-star in 1976's Mother, Jugs and Speed alongside Bill Cosby and Harvey Keitel. Following the failure of that film, she turned her back on Hollywood, and began performing in nightclubs, on concert stages, and in the occasional European flick.
The 1980s ushered in a whole new era for Raquel Welch. She married husband number three, writer Andre Weinfeld, in 1980. She replaced Lauren Bacall in the Broadway musical Woman of the Year in 1982, which was acclaimed by the public and critics alike. She continued to receive positive reviews for her acting in three made-for-TV movies from the 1980s, including a second Golden Globe nomination for her powerful portrayal of a women succumbing to Lou Gehrig's disease in 1987's A Right To Die.
Now, the former sex kitten has reached her 60s, yet is still considered a serious sex symbol contender. She has seen her share of personal and professional ups and downs, but has endured and gained the respect and recognition she strived for back in her bikini days.

Speaking of amazing, did you see that last picture? National, that picture was the most appropriate way of ending this contest. Any hot woman who finds herself on the cross is a Goddess in the true definition of its word. I'm looking at it right now. All oiled up, looking smoldering, with her feet in clear view. Someone that hot deserves to win it all, and I think Raquel was a great choice to win it. For a while I thought Farrah would win because I thought her death would play some sort of sentimental value in an attempt to crown her champion. But I guess the voters looked past that and tried not using that as an excuse to let her win.
Speaking of thanks, also a special shout out to Dougiezerts. I'm glad you chose Raquel Welch as one of the ladies to participate in this. You would've been out of your mind had you excluded her. And thanks, Dougie, for including Greta Garbo. This contest had a lot going for it. For Greta to make it as far as she did shows how beauty can withstand the test of time. Even though pictures of her feet rarely exist, I think the pictures National provided (none of them showed Greta's feet, I think) sort of helped her get to the later stages of the contest.

That was a fantastic question. I have no idea how far any girl would go in today's contest had the Raquel Welch of the 1960 and 70s stepped into the time chamber and challenged today's women. Actually, I think she would do quite well against today's women. But I also think if today's women like Megan Fox, Carmen Electra, Kate Beckinsale, Scarlett Johasson, Kardahian, and Marisa Miller went back in time to the 60s and 70s, they would've dominated those eras quite easily. It's very tough to determine who would be the last one standing.
But I'm in love with these Raquel pictures. They are just phenomenal. No wonder Farrah was acting so sweet and gentle towards her when she lied next to her on that bed.
You're right, Fashion Industry. I guess voting for Raquel as the winner was the right choice to make. When this contest started, I wasn't sure who was going to take it. It could've been Monroe. However, there were some who I knew for sure was not going to win it, like Ronstadt and Diana Ross. Even Sally Field. They had no business beating Raquel Welch. Raquel took care of Ronstadt while Farrah took care of the other two, if not all three of those women. Heck, Farrah even beat Raquel in the second round. But when it matter most, Raquel came out on top.
Raquel will be my primary worship up until the original version of the Fashionistas returns next February.

Man, I really would've like it had Farrah won. She's such an angel. But after looking at those Raquel pictures, I was floored with how STUNNING she really looked! That girl was truly amazing in her best days. IF anyone did not see those pictures, I urge you look at them.
Someone who looks like that definitely deserves to be champion, but Farrah would've been a great choice as champion as well.
Raquel deserved it.
