I have never seen this but I have reason to believe there might be some Hilary Swank sole shots--are there?

The Next Karate Kid movie made me cry. How they could okay that to be made is beyond me. And now this crap with Jayden Smith called the Karate Kid and he learns KUNG FU in China? Nevermind the scene where Jackie Chan beats on 5 10 year olds.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread with my rant on a movie series that I really liked from my childhood. I do wish the Asian girl from the second one had some barefoot scenes though. [Smile]

I have an entirely different perspective. I was also a huge fan of the first two but I, as opposed to you - think this looks to possibly be a very nice reboot. I took Wing Chun for 7 years and it does not bother me that they are taking a Kung Fu twist on the Karate Kid name. I guess I don't get the hate on this flick, at least before you've seen it.

I am a huge Jackie Chan fan - since the late 70s from his HK flicks. I was put off when I saw Jayden Smith was attached, but it looks like he really knows martial arts and the trailers look like it has potential to be an enjoyable movie for me and my two boys.

I wasn't really into it at first but the reboot has grown on me and I think I'll be watching it...Oh..And Patrick...I wished the same thing about the Asian chick in Part 2 [Smile]

It's always touchy when they remake movies from your childhood. My old man is a movie buff, and he always hated the remakes of his favorites. He's pissed that Russell Crowe Oscared for 'Gladiator' but Kirk Douglas did not for 'Spartacus' which is basically the original 'Gladiator.' But now our generation is getting older and they're remaking our childhood favorites, like this one, 'Halloween', 'Friday the 13th', etc.

But I'll say this now: if they touch, or if it is so much as 'rumored' on IMDB, if they even discuss remaking 'Rocky' and/or 'The Godfather', I'm taking it to the streets.

have not seen it but would give anything to see some great shots of hillary swanks soles!! i used to fantasize about her kicking me in the face with those karate feet when i was younger [Big Grin]
