I understand some of the site owners and huge players make killer profits with sites or clips4sale stores and what not but they typically have a large network of models and probably a fair bit of overhead as well. Does anyone do c4s stores with their wives or girlfriends just sort of as a hobby? If so, do you make a bit of money? Lose money? I'm not looking to use it as a true source of income, more so maybe a hobby to pay the phone/cable/internet bill or the power bill or something. Like if you could make say one or two hundred bucks a month, is that tough to do? About average or would that be exceptional? The reason I ask is that the wife's been kind of on the fence about it for the last few years and I'm wondering what kind of potential financial incentive I might be able to throw out there to Win her over to try it out. We engage in all sorts of activities, foot wrorship, smelling, footjobs, trample, ballbusting etc together and she could I'm sure do stand alone stuff like wiggling, flexing, scrunching, soles, food crush, heels dipping and dangling, all that kind of stuff. She's really hot which usually helps I would think but I'm just wondering what, if anything, on average people who kinda just make a store as a hobby since they're doing this stuff anyway typically get out of it.

No one makes "killer profits" from clips4sale...maybe a decent amount of extra cash here and there. Bad part is they 1099 you at the end of the year. Better have some write-offs!

I think there are alot of stores that are making some decent cash... (obviously that's "relative" in terms of how much and each ones perception of what "good money" is). But, there's just too many stores out there for them all to be "hobbies"..
It's just like any business though... What you put into likely will largely determine what you get out of it. Frequent updates and good marketing will generate optimal traffic... From there it's all about the content.
I have two stores... 549 & 814. I didn't start either of them. The original founders who I knew from online chat signed them over to me instead of just shutting them down.
I very rarely update or do anything with them and they still generate about $25-$50 a month. Again, that's pretty much doing nothing.
So to answer your question... In my humble opinion a decent site that's updated with some good content and marketed well should be able to make a hundered or 2 hundred a month. And if your wife is the model it's not costing you a penny.

When you try to make a living off this solely, that's when it usually fails you because you run that vicious circle of overhead and profit. It never works out for massive profits, so you're right it's whoever's perception of "a lot" of money is I guess.

An actual website should make much more than that if it's really good and linked up with bigger sites. I still think that's about the limit for an amateur clips4sale shop though. I only do my Images4sale store for fun and don't put too much into it and pull these figures on an average month and my whole archive is basically up for sale there. I would suggest having ALOT of content up if you want to see profit.
In all honesty, if I was just starting now from the beginning (knowing what I know now), I wouldn't do it again. There's way too many copycat sites, sister sites, someone's g/f site, wife sites, naughty single woman with foot fetish type sites all competing in that same genre it would be next to impossible with all the free content on the web now...I think a lot of us established genre sites stay afloat in all the chaos because we still bring the young college type foot model to the table and it's just like meat n' potaTOES for foot fetishists that they come to live by. I tell my friends who have very specialized fetish sites that aren't making much money the same thing...the market is flooded because feet are so mainstream almost, you gotta be a BIG fish with a lot of cash to either hire awesome talent or have a REALLY patient financial backer or you can expect to close shop in approx. 1 year...on average.

Your points about content quantity and especially the vast amount of competition makes me sit on the fence with regards to opening my own site.
Unfortunately I transitioned out of the military so funds are tight at the moment.

Ouch!
lol it's not THAT bad though...heck, if you want to be a photographer might as well buy nice equiptment, learn it, own it...use it! Then claim it as a write off. Coming up with the collateral as a small business owner per se is the tough part! Today good new entry level DSLR cameras like the T5i cost a grand with a good kit lens..

Look at it like this bro.... You're doing something you enjoy. It's not your sole source of income, so treat it as hobby. Make some clips, post them up, do a little networking to try to drive some traffic and if you make a little coin at the end of the month, that's a bonus. If not,, hey it sure didn't suck trying... Right??
I do agree that stores run properly should generate more than what I referenced. I was actually referring more to my stores which admittedly runs with very little effort on my part.
Good luck whatever you decide and have fun doing it!!
