Saw this news story and the girl seemed like she would be willing to sell her used shoes and socks to the man that contacted her, but then she said it was creepy and probably too good to be true. Then they linked this story to another one about a man that tried to kidnap a girl near the area. I thought it was strange, but unfortunately, there are a lot of sex offenders out there with foot fetishes.

Check out the story:

This is terrible publicity for honest foot fetishists. I hate how they somehow associated his offer/idea to kidnappers and sex offenders. It's even worse that he lives not too far away from me in Athens GA. What a freak!!

The guy making those solicitations really needs to take a hint from the advice given by GGN in the cold approach topics. He'd really get alot more mileage for his efforts if he knew how to use good social skills like some of us in these forums use.

Until then, he's just another creep giving foot fetishists a bad name!! [Mad] [Violent] Folks beware!!! [Eek!]

This news "story" is 4 years old. I'd imagine one would have had to have been attempting to search for articles of this sort in a search engine in order to dig it up.

I recall this article being a prime example though of how bad news tends to be interesting news. Obviously don't condone the guy's actions, but the three things I recall finding utterly laughable about this was one, the girl claimed to be creeped out but then it showed her going through her closet rummaging through her pairs of shoes, calculating the amount of money she could possibly make and even showed the news correspondent her potential "money making" socks, as if he didn't know what socks were. Two, as if asking someone to sell their socks in a Facebook message is somehow related to kidnappings and three, the news correspondent tried to reach out to the guy? What would he say to him? I recall that one making me laugh especially.

I never claimed it was recent. I only thought it odd that it was a news story seeing as how the girl seemed like she was interested. Why she contacted the news station is beyond me. Perhaps she wanted to expose the guy or maybe she wanted to be absolutely sure that she would not be killed if there was an exchange and meet up. Or maybe she just wanted to sort of advertize her socks and shoes to other foot pervs. I was also offended that they would link this to an attempted kidnapping with little to no evidence.

Just my thoughts. Thought it was interesting, but then again, if you don't then why bother reading, watching and responding.
