So I had to return something to Home Depot yesterday. When I turned around to leave there were 4 or 5 people behind me waiting their turn. The last gal in line was a cute, older blonde around 40ish. She had sandals on with cute french pedicured toes. She was looking straight ahead and not at me. I walked by her, looking down at her toes, and said "cute toes!" She went from looking straight ahead to looking directly down at her toes. No expression, never looked at me, just immediately stared at her own toes inquisitively. Almost like she'd never heard something like that before. When I looked back she was looking straight ahead again. It was a weird moment but I couldn't help it. They were delightful.

She was stonewalling, you know she was loving the attention inside but wasn't going to let it be known outwardly. Sometimes you have to just go for it.
