Are a lot of people into licking shoes? I love smelling shoes and socks and would love to fuck a shoe one day- I love licking socks and having socks in my mouth also, but I'm not into licking the bottoms of shoes or anything like that. Just curious if there were a lot of people into it.

I am inclined to extrapolate that shoe-licking is equal expression of one's affinity for feet and for being dominated. The footwear (e.g., shoes, boots, etc.) could represent an added layer of domination between one's object of desire and fulfillment to engage that object. Remember, on this hypothesis, the layer is used to conceal the object of desire, an act of deprivation via dominance of s/he who happens to own (or be guarding) said object, i.e., foot. The dominance via deprivation is perhaps manifested in the extra layer or footwear material in the eyes of the submissive footwear licker. That is, maybe, the act of licking the footwear is really the act of licking the personification of one's endured domination by feet. Then again, I am merely hypothesizing, as I don't 'get it' either.

It depends on whose shoes tbey are but I agree with Wooden Leviathan. That could be the meaning.

I have licked shoes. I did buy my wife a pair of those un-wearable, ballet fetish shoes. They have like an 8 inch heel and my wife has been wearing heels since she was 10 and she has a hard time walking in them! One time, while 'playing' she told me I couldn't have feet until I worshiped the shoes and yeah, I did. These shoes don't leave the bedroom either, so I'm not worried about dirt and stuff.
Now my wife does also own a pair of those five-toe fitness shoes. She has a pair that she uses only for exercises and one day, about a few months after she first got them, mid summer, she placed them on my desk at home, with a note telling me that they stink and she wanted me to see for myself. I stuffed my nose in and sniffed and the insoles, were like a sponge that sucked up the sweat and smell from her feet (which I love). I did lick the insides of them and I could taste the sweat.

Personally not fond of it. But I believe it coincides with the foot fetish genre. Its adoration of the symbol of a lower extremity that is 'above' oneself that generates sexual arousal. No one should demonize it especially if that one is a foot enthusiast who has at one time or another hid their fetish out if fear of ridicule and embarrassment. As long as you are not hurting anyone or causing harm...enjoy your shoe fetizh, buddy.
