Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if Windows Media Player has a place where you can delete all clips you have watched on WMP?.Everytime I watch clips using WMP I just delete the clip from the Playlist. Is there something else I need to click on to remove the watched clips from the Players history or does it not have a place that stores the clips you have watched using the player?.

Thanks.

Hello Ghost - Here's what to do:

1. Open up your Media Player and look at the top. Find the word TOOLS at the top.

2. Click Tools and go down to OPTIONS with your mouse. Click Options and window will open.

3. In the Options window you will see a group of Tabs across the top. Look for one called PRIVACY.

3b. Click the Privacy Tab.

5. Down toward the bottom you will see the word HISTORY. Below the word History are these words:

"Save file and URL History in the player".

To the left of this you will see a little square box. UNCHECK that box if it is checked. If it's not checked, that's alright. Leave it that way.

6. To the right, you will see two important buttons, one just above the other. The top one says "CLEAR HISTORY" ... the other tab says "CLEAR CACHES".

Click each of these buttons.

Whenever you are finished playing files on your Media player, go to this window and clear the History then clear the Cache.

Respectfully,

Ben

In my WMP underneath Clear History it says "To delete CD/DVD history, click clear CD/DVD.It does not say "Clear Caches"?.I clicked on both buttons anyway?.There are playlists of another family members music on WMP aswell so, I might have deleted all of his songs?.
So now that I have clicked "Clear History" has absolutely everything I have ever watched on the player been wiped and do I do this after every session on my comp,if I have used the player?.

Thanks Ben Del Amitri.

Hello Ghost -

It sounds like we've got two different versions of Windows Media Player. Don't worry though, by "Clearing CD/DVD in the History, you are not deleting any songs. Just deleting them from Windows Media Player's History. And yes, I would recommend doing this everytime you use the player.

Also - you might want to check your version and update it.

Respectfully,

Ben
