Yep, Maine's elite Vice Squad has just finished up a conclussive sting operation here in Maine. According to the news, the sting operation involved many police departments, was conducted throughout the entire state and took several months to complete. Thanks to them, as a residence of this great State I now feel safe for they got THE prostitute off Maine's streets.
Yep, you read that right. After spending who know's how many dollars trying to curb Maine's apparant epidepic prostitution problem, they netted only ONE arrest, and that is a joke in and of itself as she was from the other huge prostitute capital of the world, New Hampshire.
To tell you the truth, I would be laughing along with everyone else about this pathetic sting operation, but realizing just how much tax payer money was spent doing this, hurts way to much. I guess that explains why Maine has the highest taxes per capita in the entire country doesn't it though?
I know this is a bit off-topic, but it was just too funny not to share. (By all means if this angers the moderators for being off-topic, by all means have this post deleted.)

Sounds like some people are full of shit --- seems to be a world-wide problem.
There was a similar absurd operation over here in Germany/Berlin a few months ago: The police chased and hunted down graffiti sprayers with loads of cops & helicopters, costing the tax payers hundreds of thousands of Euros. I think it also resulted in 1 arrest (if at all). Plus, in Berlin there are way more serious crimes to take care of than sprayers.

well you have to realize that since the war on terrorism is over and theres no longer a worry that militants can enter the country from canada with blackmarket weapons,maine has nothing better to do with the federal funds it recieves than chase thier one prostitute.

War on terror is over? We're still in Iraq, and are now considering going after Iran as well..it is all pitched to us through media and the president as war on terror despite our knowledge that it is for oil and control.

our country should just legalize prostitution as a whole.if you think about it whats wrong with a mutal sexual agreement amongst 2 adults where money is exchanged? one is willing to pay for it,wile the other person wants the money.its that simple.in places where prostitution is legal,it is about as clean and sterile as you could possibly be.the women get tested ona weekly basis,and the prostitutes check your "regions"for warts and herpes before you even think of slappin a comdom on.in legal brothels if they get bad vibes from somone they can reject giving them service,where on the streets doing that is dangerouse.so whats wrong here??it would be the end of pimps and the violence that can dsplay along with turf wars they have in some regions where people are murderd,crack whores,prostitutes being raped,underage hookers,etc. its because thease things happen with illigal prostitution that a sting operation was in place if you ask me.idk maine @ all,i thought they had nothing but poland spring water and that was it lol,i would never think there was hookers there.but being that there is,thease are the types of problems they bring with them so ofcourse the law has to do somthing.my beef is there was onely one arrest??and let me guess,it was a hooker and not the pimp right?? if anything they shoulda rounded up all the pimps,but they didnt.so i will agree that the sting was a waste of tax paying dollars,but im not gonna be heated @ maines task force completly,be mad @ your politions who keep hookin illegal,its cause its illigal all this other shit comes with prostitution wich then in return thease million dollar task forces(that u pay for)have to be put in play. as for the "war on terror",thats a term that is too loosly used,i think it relates more to living in an almost police state than anything.call me racist,i dont care but when your in a airport is it really nessicery to search and take a pair of nail clippers from a 75 year old white lady??or for police to search a bookbag of a 13 year old black kid on the 6 train??is putting a 24 hour survailence camera up on fordam rd in the bronx going to stop terrorism(what possible terror targets could be there)?? i think not.there is no real war on terror here,it should be called "the war on your personal freedom if anything".your money that goes in the "war of terror",yes a good handful is givin to intellegence adgencies,and ways to prevent terrorism,but in my opinion is mainly spent on new things like the examples i gave.this is somthing that really heats me more than anything.trust me,the socalled "war on terror"is far from over. we are never gonna go after iran,this country gives press releases saying that when they feel the media may show our real relationship with a country that was a horrible as iraq.call me crazy,but if you look @ the facts and think about it,this is what you will see.we depend on them waay too much,and they have alot of money invested in vairiouse areas of this country,i think we would have a better chance fighting with mexico or canada before we would iran lol. sorry,jus needed to get that off my chest hehe
