Its a link to a web site guys, but Im pretty sure you people can figure out on what to click on. A group called Anonymous shut down the WestBoro Babtist Church while the head bitch sat and taunted the leader of the group. Its been two days, and the WestB site is still down. Anonymous are MY NEW FUCKIN HEROS!

I applaud Anonymous, though I am uncomfortable with the notion of denying expression, as deplorable as the WBC message is.

If america is a free country, then the gays should have the right to be gay and also on the flipside, westboro should be free to protest against. Why don't we just all get along....

While freedom of speech is protected by law, I don't really think anyone's going to prosecute Anonymous because everybody hates the WBC anyway.
Well put.
With the controversy of Catholic priests being shielded from the public eye (even the police) and getting away with it...who knew they weren't untouchable?

When what is said or done is an infringement on either an individual's rights or those of a group, then that is when it is justified to take away the rights of the aggressor.

I can't believe how unfathomably wrong this is.
WestBoro's message is seriously corrupt yes, but to actively take them down will only strengthen their cause. In almost every similar event in history it has never been a good idea to attack a religion like that.
That aside, I also find it wrong that Anon should censor someone in such a way.
I'm for Net Neutrality but honestly when I see stuff like this happening, I feel we're at a point where we can't handle that power. Maybe it is time for stronger policing online.

While they are indeed assholes, the 1st amendment does protect their right to be assholes, as others have said. However, this just means the government can't come in and make them go be assholes somewhere else. But on the other hand, the 1st amendment also allows a group to assemble at the same locations as these people, and chant as loudly as they want "Fuck you!" over and over. Which is similar in spirit to what anon did.

Im figuring that most of you guys throwing up the 'Freedom of Speach Act", have never had anyone serve in the military! The first admendment protects their rights from the goverment, not hardworking citizens thats tired of their anti-gay, anti-military rhetoric! When an 18 year old kid gets blown In half by a Talaban landmine; and those assholes go to his funeral and command he died because hes gay and Jesus hates him!! You dumbfucks need to be shot In the face just like them!

Me likey.
WBC != Catholics? Although I agree with the statement Catholics and West Boro BAPTIST Church aren't logically equivilent.
WBC doesn't even adopt and believe in the Gospel, thus making them not even Christian; much less Catholic. They're really just a group of bigotted idiots who think that they can disguise hate under the name of something that is truly Righteous.

Sorry, I was unclear - I meant religion generally.
And I'm Roman Catholic background (though, gladly, my mum never forced it upon me to go to church or whatever) so I do know all about Catholic values and traditions and all that bollocks; I'm not just speaking ignorantly and out of turn.

Absolutely mate - they picketed some rock stars funeral - Someone like Ronnie James Dio I think (before I even knew *what* westboro was) and I was kinda sickened if I'm honest - a) that they would do this and b) that it was allowed...moreso the latter.
You can take it in 2 directions:
1) They have already died, so there is no salvation for them, what they're doing is just pointless - even in their warped view of the world.
2) By doing something like this, that is a thwarting of how God has made things - if he needed human intervention, then he wouldn't be God. I.E: it is sacrilegious.

I was highlighting the paradox of doing it moreso than knocking the belief itself.
I have the incredible ability to see things from someone else's perspective. Amazing, I know.

I just don't believe what others believe by proxy - I apply outside logic and actually consider it rather than blindly follow, otherwise everyone would be the same, wouldn't they?
Understanding someone's logic doesn't mean one has to believe it.
