Just like the tag line says I'm sending up an S O S. I need some serious help with online dating! My girlfriends decided that they were tired of seeing me mope around and had the brilliant idea that I needed to date. They tricked me into a girls night filled with moscato and pizza and I woke up with a dating profile and 16 messages!!!! I really just want to vomit and hide but perhaps it's not as bad as I think it is?!?
I'm looking for advice, tips what not to do. Give it all to me the good the bad the hellla ugly all of it. I really would like a male perspective. God..... When DO you bring feet up? Over margaritas? I haven't dated in ages....

Sorry for the late reply it's month end and year end at work and in my line of work that's a nightmare lol.
First off I want to say thank you for taking the time to reply. However gruff your first few words were they were however true and an excellent idea and I did just that.
If I came across as overwhelmed and scared shitless that was because I was! You gotta realize the majority of my dating experience had been wrapped up in the last 18 years of my marriage. So. As you can imagine a lot has changed since I was in the dating pool. The messages I was referring to that I had received on my profile ranged from hi to 7 dick pictures. :/ really? I guess I was floored at the way guys talked to me. When did it become socially acceptable to show you dick to a perfect stranger and say sup sexy your just my type lets meet! 🙄 Now I've been rejected before and it sucks so my plan was to at least message the people who messaged me thanks I'm flattered but I'm not the one for you I wish you luck on your journey? Everyone deserves that simple human respect don't you think?
Thank you for the profile and messaging tips! I have been putting them to use. I am too old for duck face lol I don't play games and I'm not out looking to trick somebody. Both pictures I have up I don't even have make up on but that's how I roll. I'm honest, Divorced mom and they don't get to meet the kids at all. I'm not a damsel in distress nor do I need a man to take care of me and mine I do me real well. Here is where I am finding a few snags...
1. I don't cry if they don't get back to me after talking for a few days I'm a grown up. My issue is I have posted a full body picture. When did it become a requirement for me to send naked body parts for verification? I have yet to do this but is this standard? When I refuse or say I'm not comfortable w that the answers vary but are not usually good.
2. Please I would really really appreciate honest answers here how do you know if they are married?
3. I've heard there are sites that are geared more toward hooking up and lord knows I need some dick but getting laid isn't an issue for me I simply prefer for my encounters to have a bit of meaning to me. Perhaps I'm on the wrong site for what I am looking for and that's why I'm getting these types of guys. Are there any sites that are better than others?
Again I really do appreciate your input. My friends are biased and it's nice to be able to come here and get unbiased opinions.

Lol dick pics. Welcome to the internet age, girl.
1. No way you should subject yourself to those outlandish requests. Those that message you with dick pics and nagging you to send nude pics back... if you aren't looking for a quick hook up then weed them right out. The internet is filled with guys looking for a quick piece of ass.
2. You'll never really know. Your goal should just be to find someone you can talk to and have good conversation with. It won't be as easy as just grabbing the first guy to message you, but that's all part of dating any way you cut it.
3. I'm not sure there's any website that will be best for looking for LTRs, except maybe some Christian dating site which I would avoid at all costs given my religious background (or lack thereof). All of them, again, are filled with guys who are hoping to find an untapped outlet for quick sex. My own advice would be to just join multiple sites and roll with it. Tinder was a pretty good shot for me when I looked at it. I wasn't on it very long but I got a couple dates with some down to earth girls. Granted nothing came of them, but I figured I'd add my own anecdote.
