Ive noticed a lot of sites I frequent have banners for D2Items.com, and D2Legit.com. Not putting these sites down, because I used to frequent them about 5-6 years ago buying weapons, armor, etc,and their excellent sites. Back then most good items were around 8-9-10$ But I decided to browse their stock the other night and was astounded at their prices on some items. A fucking axe I looked at was priced at 499.99$. I thought I was bad for spending 4 dollars on a fucking helm,; but 500$$$$. I cant fathom that!

World of Warcraft had gold farmers galore for quite a while and they were making bank. Then Blizzard made it easier to get gold and then the prices went down for it. Funny thing though, then account hacking went up, and when Blizzard starting putting super rare items and mounts into the game via the card playing games, and such, those items became the must have items people would buy from them.

I played WOW for about a month and didn't really like It so much;but I did hear a lot about the gold farming.
A lot of guys at work called me a cheater for paying $$$ for items. I tried to explain, I have a JOB, these guys at D2legit have a JOB; Im not a cheater, Im paying them for their services; they hunt all day for Items, I pay them for the items they find; I never saw the big deal.
But I did read a while back about places in Mexico that paid kids like pennies a day to farm gold on WOW! Not sure how true it was though!

So, we might be getting screwed at the "pump" as you put It, but at the fuckin grocery store!!!! People gotta eat; even you; or does your diet consist of mouse turds and pocket lint. And furthermore; I work for my money, If I wanna spend 5$ on a sword, to a company that is excellent in service, and they get rich for helping me!!!! Good for them. You say "Americans", so I can only assume your not one. Thats probably why your so fuckin poor; Sucker!

A lot of Diablo2 players these days just bot the game, and trade their goods for "forum gold" on D2 forum, while I don't really understand it, I guess it's interesting.

On a side note, people in general buy things relative to their hobby, while that might be trading cards, virtual items, or getting parts for your car..people like spending money on what they enjoy, so I don't see a problem with buying or selling items.
