In my experience ...
* Single guys are looked upon with skepticism, if you're allowed in at all. The clubs try to keep a good ratio of women to men, and they can quickly turn into a sausage fest if someone isn't screening things at the door (or at the invitation stage, depending on the style of the club).
* Many clubs -- I'll even go so far as to say most -- are set up for vanilla sex. And by that I mean standard stuff, if you count the occasional gangbang or spouse swapping as vanilla. Basically, there are private rooms for small parties, usually one big room for a group orgy, and maybe some other settings (such as a pool or jacuzzi). It's mostly about "Tab A into Slot B" sex.
* Often, clubs will have a bondage room to allow kinkier people to indulge their interests, but this is not a certainty, and it's certainly not the main component of most clubs. If you're curious, ask the host or organizer. And, yes, there are some swingers clubs that cater specifically to bondage/kink fans.
* Sometimes, a club may have a "grope room" -- a bedroom-sized space with minimal lighting, where anything goes. If you're OK with the idea that you may be getting a blowjob from another guy, or that the girl you're banging might not be a perfect 10, this can be fun for you.

Dick summed it up almost perfectly! one thing i would add is just that swinger clubs are like any other clubs in that they all offer different things. some are much more high scale establishments, some are a bit cheesey. contact the hosts of the ones you are interested in with your questions and they'll be more than happy to answer any questions. they are usually very friendly people.
the only thing i would disagree with Dick on is the subject of single guys. a club that allows single guys is an extreme rarity or it might happen only on a special night.

I'll confirm what Nusuth says about all offering different things. This much is true. Do your research before you visit or join.
Indeed, there are some very high-end establishments and some very low-rent gatherings. My experience is that you're looking for the sweet spot somewhere on the higher end of the middle.
The ultra-high-end establishments offer great visuals, but my experience (and several other friends', including couples) is that they're very cliquish -- and if you're not part of the clique, you ain't playin' tonight. You'll want clubs that have personable, down-to-earth people if you're intent on leaving happy. It's sort of the same principle as strip clubs: It's great to watch a dancer who's a perfect 10, but you're gonna get a hummer in the champagne room from the one who's an 8.
Nusuth also is right about clubs rarely admitting single guys, which is why I prefaced my notes with "if you're allowed in at all." Single guys are scrutinized very carefully before they're admitted. Keep in mind that swingers clubs exist primarily to allow couples who are in "the lifestyle" to have fun.
