The intro clip to Mad Men has a very blatant foot fetish reference, with the tight shot of a lady's lovely leg and foot in stockings.

I think this kind of thing is much more sexy than other media spots where feet either just "happen" to be in them, or where they "must" be in them, such as foot powder commercials. One case is merely anecdotal (Oh, look! Women with bare feet! Gee whiz!) and the other is simply clinical (selling a foot hygiene or medical product). Both leave out the actual woman attached to the legs/feet and the eroticism of male admiration of and lust for those legs and feet.

Anyone else like the Mad Men intro?

Steve and I love the show and I always stick my bare foot out right in his face as that intro plays when we watch it together.

Funny you should bring that up 'cause I pretty much feel the same way you do. I've always liked that sequence because the model's slender legs and high arches are very similar to my buddy Jamie Daniels' (see link below) and I can't help thinking of Jamie every time I see it.

Agree. I think it's one of the only title sequences I don't skip through. It's a gorgeously contoured foot and having it wrapped in those 50's-style pantyhose just makes it all the more alluring.

Janet, I'm waiting with bated breath for the launch of the new site if these are types of ideas getting your juices going!

Adam, your photography always got the best out of those types of curves. Speaking of which, where is Monik these days??

Janet, I'd love to watch an episode with you! Though I wouldn't care what was happening at Sterling Cooper that week.
However, I don't think the opening is intentionally designed by a fellow fetishist.
And if you don't already watch, drop everything and start watching Breaking Bad.

NietzscheU - Thanks, sweetie! I'm excited about it, too!

wrestleu2000 - Thank you, too, sweetie. But I never said the clip was designed by a foot fetishist, I just said it contains a blatant foot fetish reference. You just don't see feet/legs accentuated in an erotic way like that on television much.

And as for Breaking Bad...we've been following it since Day One and love it. The funny thing is we are NOT "TV people" but we do record and watch Mad Men and Breaking Bad religiously! :-)

The intro is really good and I am definitely convinced that at least one of the writers on the show has a foot fetish! There is an episode called "Signal 30" where a guy is sitting in on a college class and the entire time he's eying this girl's foot dangling a flip-flop. There's even a great close up!

No doubt in my mind!!!

i was late to the party and only started watching it on netflix so i think i have seen everythign but the current season.. and i have to admit, i dont remember that scene. [Cry]

as for hot feet in an opening sequence, you gotta see The Big C. Laura Linney is barefoot throughout the whole thing and there is a decent scene were they have a close up of her toes wrapped over the edge of a pool.

nusuth - It's not a "scene", it's a moment in the intro clip for every episode of every season. Just don't fast-forward through the show intro and you'll see it. :-)

The episode "Signal 30" was from the season that just ended. When you get the chance, definitely check it out!
