I've often wondered if our attraction to feet could be driven by the fact that they are covered a good part of the time. I've known women whose feet I've never seen because they always wear closed shoes. There have been others that I've only gotten a glimpse of their feet after knowing them a long time. It seems that feet are much more mysterious and more exciting when it's not so easy to see them. Are most men attracted to breast for the same reason? Because it isn't common for women to show them so that all can see? I wonder if foot loving is more common in cold countries such as Canada or Russia because the feet stay closed in most of the time? Are there more foot lovers in Maine or Minnesota than in Florida or Hawaii for the same reason?

I don't think the study eliminated breast lovers, it probably incorporates them into the mean average. BTW Reinforced, would love for you to add a link to that study...if you could, I need to use that as extra bait for models LOL!

I think it's a percentage of humans that is born with it, regardless of location.
The fetish can be more freely explored in western cultures, but that doesn't mean that westerners have it more than easterners. I don't think I could survive in an eastern culture, the repression would drive me nuts.

I'd say that foot fetishists in cold areas are more deprived than ones in Florida or other warmer areas. I don't think that the feet being covered is what causes the fetish, but living in a warmer area just makes feet more norm.

Maybe it needs more specific study but I've never read or heard about a direct correlation between having the fetish and which climate you grew up and/or live in. I grew up in Maryland so seeing bare feet was seasonal. Now I live in Florida and see feet all year around. That certainly "fans the flame" of my existing fetish but personally I don't think that has a direct influence on whether you have or develop a foot fetish.

I know in many african cultures, womens breasts are simply hanging out like their nothing and there is no big deal about them there, also in many black communities, booty is preferred to the breasts, maybe there is some connection there, i dunno. For me, I would say not being able to see something often does highten my desire to see it more.

I'm wondering about this myself. All my footslaves are either caucasion and one from Japan. I'm from the Philippines and never thought or heard of a man attracted to women's feet (now I know better). But traveling in other Asian countries I know its rarer say in Thailand, Burma and Laos. Remember, Im talking about foot attraction as part of their society, not among tourists.
I think Asian cultures can very very diverse, which may explain why foot attraction is popular in Japan but less over here. I wish I knew the answer why!

All those countries you mentioned (Philippines, Thailand, Burma and Laos) are tropical countries. The weather is warm to hot all the time and I'm sure feet are always visible. It gets cold in Japan, so there would be times when most feet would be hidden and covered. I'll bet you would also find foot lovers in Northern China, Mongolia and both North and South Korea. My theory is that in places where they are covered for a good part of the time, it makes them mysterious. If it's a culture where feet are disparaged as being low or dirty and it's taboo to like them or touch them, that also drives the fetish.

Very interesting subject and I was thinking of starting a thread when I jumped on Wu's this morning about this...It seems to me that Brazillians are into feet more than other countries...There seems to be a large following of women's feet there on you tube and on many sites...Now we all know that their feet are out all of the time and they have great weather down there...I just don't understand why the women are so into their feet and the men are so into the ladies feet....Or is this a figment of my imagination because I love Latina feet?

I think like many things its a mix of many variables. As I understand it, they are very open to foot fetish in India, despite the warm climate.
But culture, to include machoism may make it very hard to express the attraction. Brazil has a reputation for sexual freedom (from what I understand) and playfulness. But I also agree on what is covered is often coveted. many variables.
