I don't like these pedoes either. I have encountered these YouTube "dare" or "challenge" videos before too. It is unfortunate, but there will always be messed up people out there, giving foot fetishists a bad name by victimizing people and unfortunately, even kids.

I propose not giving internet access (or at least Youtube) access to anyone under the age of 18 for starters to stop the original luring in...and of course, there will always be creeps and perverts trying to get these pics and videos. Facebook and Tiwtter are full of them I've noticed. Very sad indeed.

You can't really punish the kids for something the creeps are doing. Especially since most of them never even encounter the creeps.

Personally, I don't think children should be on the internet making random videos for strangers in the first place. You never know who that person actually is or what their intentions are. Furthermore, posting something saying "dare me to to do anything" is foolish for anyone. Once again, you have no idea what that person wants to see you doing whatever strange thing for. I know many kids in that age group lack the knowledge to make such judgments, but really this kind of behavior is almost as foolish as walking up to strangers on the street. Parents should actually be aware of their children's internet activities and monitor what they are doing. The kids should not have unfettered access to electronic devices 24/7 if the parents have no clue what they are doing with them. Stuff like this is how a lot of children actually get baited into making kiddie porn. Pervs pose as their peers and then try to work them from there. Children also need to learn to be careful about whatever they post in the internet as well. Once it is out there, it is out there and can remain so indefinitely.
Ultimately where am I going with all of this? Basically children need to learn responsible internet habits if they're going to be on it. Who should teach them these things? Their parents.
Sorry if it's long and rambling. Just got done working a very long day.

I strongly agree that kids under18 shouldn't be on youtube--but how can we enforce that?

We can't, and I disagree.

It's not like it's their fault for being targeted by the creeps.

If they weren't there, there would be no fuel for the fire...creeps can't creep, if there's nothing to creep about. Parents are just negligent these days.

Rider is right in regards to the fact that you can't keep children off the internet forever these days. I agree with Norcal though that it comes down to the parents having some involvement and teaching them what is right and wrong as well as what is safe and potentially dangerous. I know people whose kids are connected 24/7 with absolutely no monitoring and they are looking at all kinds of things. They stay up into the night hours talking to strangers online who are only asking them to do who knows what.
Just like the rest of the world, you cannot shield your children forever. The only way to make them strong and prepared is to teach them. Parents have to teach them and do not rely on others to do it. Parents are and should be the primary modelers of behavior in a child's development.
I am in no way taking responsibility from the creeps, but just like with any victimizer, criminal, or other person with bad intentons, they are a fact of life and children need to be taught that they exist so they can deal with such situations when the time arises.
