Hey everyone,

I'm two days late on the column. As I mentioned in another thread I was out of town for a day and my brother had a hospital visit so I ran a little behind. I managed to get everything done and I want to thank both Bondo of Pose Your Toes and Adam of Feet Fair for helping me out on this one. I've respected both these guys for a long time and we have many similar experiences. Again, thanks to them for helping me this time around.

This month's topic is how foot fetishism changed in the 1990s, mainly how we went about finding foot fetish content and then becoming involved in creating it ourselves. I was inspired by a thread here on the forums about foot fetishism before the Internet. I took it a step further though and talked about the early days and touched upon some of the evolution through today. I could have written volumes on this topic to cover everything, but I think you'll like the highlights I did cover.

Let me know what you think,

Patrick

A marvelous article...and how time have changed (now I don't want any of you young whippersnappers telling me how good you've got it these days)!

Interesting article. Things really have exploded in the lat ten years, with the advent of fast Internet connections. It's only been during that time that I had got out of the habit of pursuing one of my old standby sources of feet, the Sunday paper, store advertisement inserts! In the early 80's it was Playboy. In the late 80's and 90's, video tapes came along.

Nice article!
I do feel that foot fetishism is more accepted today than it was 20-30 years ago.

I enjoyed that stroll down memory lane. I was never into Leg Magazine much back then, but the references to photos in catalogs and People was more my style. Also, I was an avid Playboy subscriber for many years in the 70's and 80's and always noticed the absence of feet in their centerfold pictorials, which always pissed me off.

Awesome article Patrick ... I am the same age as you are (born in '79) and of course remember the days of relying on things such as the Sears Catalog and random department store circulars in the Sunday paper for pics of girl's feet before the internet came along.

Also I remember that "In the Feet of the Night" website was the first foot fetish website I ever happened across back in the late 90s ... I remember being like "woahh what glory is this?" haha and then the rest is history [Cool]

Excellent read Patrick, you have a gift. Oh the days of waiting for a jpeg to download...listening to the disk "click, click, click" until you finally "owned" that pic!!

FM Concepts' model Darla Crane hooked me for life on long, gorgeous toenails. She's still in the business, has to be in her 50's by now.

I also remember my first Leg Show purchase. From that point on I knew the exact day my favorite porn store would have the new monthly issue in. I still have dozens of copies in "almost" mint condition [Smile]

I have to agree an anonymous post reviewing the blog that it was generally a puff piece, and lacked significant content pertaining to the 90's.

Considering you were 11 years old in 1990, I think your first column would have been on a topic more relevant to your experience. I think omitting any reference to Dian Hansen (or her columns) and Wu is just puzzling.

That being said, I certainly realize that this is a first attempt, and will certainly continue to read future installments.

Thanks for the honest feedback. Wu's was actually mentioned, but not so much due to the fact that most of the interactions I had with Wu's came in the 2000s, not the 90s (as that was the decade I focused MY and the other people's interviews on). I can't tell people what to say when they are interviewed, so if they didn't mention Wu's, then I can't write about it. I did mention some of my very early interactions with Wu's, but by that time, the decade changed. Most of the mentioning of 2000-onward was for reference for how we grew afterward and how some things changed for us.

As for the editor of Leg Show, she was great, but not my inspiration and I guess not Bondo's or Adam's. Again, can't tell them who to mention. Elmer Batters was a much bigger influence to me as well as Bondo, so that's why he was mentioned. I also enjoyed some other magazines like Leg Tease and Leg Action, but not enough to mention.

I did turn 11 in 1990, but at that age I certainly wasn't buying porn magazines. I also mentioned I didn't really begin liking feet until I was about 14 (1993). So at that age I was doing the things I mentioned, such as watching Up All Night, finding my dad's porn stash, and then in 1997, I found Leg Show. I had 3 years of the 1990s to enjoy Leg Show and with Abby a year younger than me, she and I dated until 1999, so there wasn't much time to do things in the 1990s.

I hope that clarifies some of the reasons why I did what I did. I understand I could have wrote a few hundred pages on this topic, but for something I don't get paid to do in any way, I guess it is what it is.

Thanks,

Patrick

I'll tell you what I appreciate in the columns: Not having to wade through incomprehensible sentences, weird comma splices upserd spellings and a whole bunch of LOL abbreviations and emoticons. ROFL!

A salute to your pro bono services, and thanks for %*!#ing proofreading, seriously. Leg show and all that was not really my thing but I'm happy to read something well-written. Especially during morning coffee.
