How open is everyone about their love of feet? The women I've been with know about it obviously, but there's a few friends as well. When I was much younger in middle school and first confessed my love of feet, I'm pretty sure the two people told others about it, and it's very possible that many know without me having told them. I've had someone ask me "Are you sure you don't have a foot fetish?", and I never gave them any indication otherwise. My family might know, as I'm pretty sure feet pics were found in my room when I was a kid. Do people know because you've been found out? Do you share your fetish openly? I've told a few people over the years but it's mostly kept to myself.

All of my friends know about my fetish. Male and female. I make sure they all know. I have no reason to hide my liking for feet. I don't tell them specifics unless they ask or are female.

I know where you're coming from with feeling suspicious that people are aware that you haven't told. I was 13 or 14 when I first got online at another friend's house. People have picked up on the fact I have a foot fetish through my adulthood in the various jobs I've had. without me saying a word. I have never told anyone. Only my current partner, but I'm sure others have noticed (I've noticed some of my friends also do).
My ex used to love her feet being massaged and told me she likes it when guys suck her toes (must have had a foot guy before). I am pretty guarded about letting people know if they don't have any good reason to be informed of it.
My family knows. My brother once discovered my collection of feet pics in my room back when I was in junior high or high school. I was once in a confessional sort of mood when I wrote a letter to my parents from college and in the course of spilling my guts about stress I was under, I mentioned it. I think that the younger of my two older sisters knows about it. Two of my cousins, a guy and a girl, know about it from back when we were kids. My late best friend knew about it because of a situation involving a note I left for a mutual female friend when we were seniors in high school. And there are people in my life, friend-wise and acquaintance-wise, who may have come to know about it because I have indeed become more casual about mentioning it in relaxed social settings. Also, I'm a frequent "barefooter" in terms of lifestyle, and I wear a silver toe ring that can sometimes get conversation headed in that direction.
I still retain a certain amount of embarrassed humility about having a foot fetish that carries over from long ago when I was a kid (I'm 45 now) and thought I was weird and would be judged if anyone knew. But when I meet girls now, I don't hide that I love feet; sometimes it has been verrrrry advantageous to let girls know that I like feet before we later got much more intimately involved. In some cases, my foot fetish greased the wheels for that.

If you can handle having people know on a wide scale, and tolerate that some will judge you as weird or whatever, and dismiss the negative and just accept the absolute value of the positive, thats awesome, because as you prove, you don't really suffer negative results from people who know and think it's weird, but you do gain positive results from people who know and enjoy the blessings of your fetish. I do see one main reason for "broadcasting" it: As people such as Patrick demonstrate, having more people know ends up paying dividends because then there is a greater assortment of people who might look to have fun with you with your foot fetish.
But I do agree with you both in the sense that I don't advertise it either, because frankly, that would be kind of freakish to do, and many would find it offputting. People who are into many other types of fetishes don't go around making a point of divulging them in the course of regular, non-bedroom conversation, so why would someone who isn't creepy do it about a foot fetish?
