Looking back on movies & TV shows & music videos & even real life, does it seem like you were more likely to see barefoot girls and women starting circa 2000 than in the 80s and 90s? Just for example, I wish we'd seen Justine Bateman's or Tracey Gold's bare feet more than once each on Family Ties and Growing Pains. Even in porn, the 80s and 90s seem to be dominated more by stockings and or heels than bare feet, and stockings and shoes do nothing for me. I'm serious, right around the turn of the century is when you started to see girls going barefoot more frequently in media. I wonder what changed

I think you are right. I grew up in the 1980s and there was definitely a high heel fetishy thing going on. This was before the internet and sexuality was not as open. It was considered sexy and a little bit "naughty" to leave your high heels on during sex. David Lee Roth even mentions this in Van Halens song, Everybody Wants Some. During the songs breakdown he says something like "you can leave the shoes on" Because of this, you didnt see a lot of feet in the 80s and if you did it was often in pantyhose. Now, I love stocking feet so that was wonderful to me but if you had a pure foot fetish the 80s was not your best era.

I think the change started in the 90s when the flip flop era started. When I was a kid, sandals were for the pool or the beach; they were not really something you'd wear all day long. Today, ladies wear flip flops to meet the president at the White House, different era now. Also, pedicures started to become an affordale luxury at this time. You didn't really see this when I was growing, up in the 80s. Pedicures were for rich ladies, not everybody.

These changes eventually led to seeing more bare feet in real life, movies and TV. While its awesome to see feet so out in the open, it almost becomes overload. You also see some ladies that don't take care of their feet. Ugly feet are such a turn off to me. In the past, there was something about a barefoot girl that was almost vulnerable, exposing; because you didn't see bare feet all the time. Today, its commonplace.

I agree with both of you. Growing up in the 70's and 80's was a different foot climate! The only real sandal I can think of back then that was main stream was Dr. Scholl's exercise sandal. Other than that it was pretty much closed toe high heels. If you were lucky, maybe they were sling backs!

back in the 70's the only feet to see was in porno movies. Foot fetish only became popular because of Social Media and the Internet
