I'm an Obama fan, but he's not the second coming. He'd tell you that himself.
However, I've never seen any president with this many fans and harboring this much faith from the American people. I suppose this is what it was like to see Kennedy get in to office, especially as Kennedy was the first president to break the White House status quo (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant)....unless you believe the rumors that claim Abraham Lincoln was an atheist.
Anyway, this sort of status is unfair. He may be the leader of the this country, but he is still just a man taking on an incredibly difficult job. Even if he does do everything he wants to get done during his term, he's just a man who's done his job well.

World War II got this country out of the Great Depression, not necessarily FDR's New Deal. Unemployment was still high in the years before this country entered World War II and most people still weren't doing well. World War II jumpstarted the economy and the country back on the road to prosperity.
And, for the record, Kennedy was Catholic, not Protestant.
If making more people and businesses (i.e. banking, auto industry, etc.) dependent on government, along with expanding government, and potentially spending money, to levels never seen before isn't socialism, then I don't know what is.

In my humble opinion, the path we're on was created by 8 YEARS of the previous administration(where's the outrage for that?), not 3 MONTHS of this one. 1) When did this country became so stupid? In 2000 when it [S]elected George Bush then it got down right idiotic when it elected him again in 2004.
2) I want to know where were you and your anger back when Bush/Chaney was feeding this country off to highest bidder off shore. Where was the outrage with "He has WMD"? "Mission Accomplished? No child left behind? Taking a surplus and turning it into a record deficit? Banning Stem Cell research? KATRINA? And things just got totally out of hand, like my personal favorite, "The VP is not part of the Executive Branch". I was in law school when Chaney made that statement, we laughed the whole afternoon. What an embarrassment to himself and to the country and he just makes himself look like a troll on every interview.

Has anyone read about the North American Union? At first I thought it was hogwash.....but I am now paying attention because Obama is putting many things in place to make it possible and to be accepted....CNN reported today that the US is in debt to China more money than you and I can conceive and suggested that an alternate currency (possibly the AMERO) be put in place.....Hmmmm

I am sure that seeing how hard the E.U. is pushing a Global currency we'll probably bypass the Amero. They want a "New World" order out of this financial crises really bad, and another regional currency stands in the way. It's hard to say, but yea very interesting to see what they shove down our throats in the next year.

Perhaps it is you that does not understand the concept of socialism. As far as FDR taking us through the great depression... that is untrue. Many programs of The New Deal proposed by FDR were unconstitutional (as declared by the Supreme Court)and yet other parts were "pulled back" prior to WWII.
It is WWII that pulled this country through the depression. Jimmy Carter could have been president during this time and America still would have pulled through.
Bottom line... neither FDR nor his "New Deal" did squat to pull this country through the great depression.

Somehow it gets in the way of our current Treasonous president and his conniving minions (e.g. Rahm Emmanuel, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, Arlen Specter, Bob Casey, Jr., and so many more).
I would be interested to know if any actions taken by our beloved and beneficent leader have been permitted by the Founding Fathers...or is he simply the Autocrat he said he would be?
