Ive been a Transformers fan since ages... So I hope they don't fuck it up like they did STREET-FIGHTER..... This was such a let-down.. I think they should leave it to the creaters of Jurassic Park, Marvel and Matrix.....

Guess we're gonna have to wait and see [Blush]

Trailer

Hell yeah, I saw the trailer and it looks decent. I was raised on GI-Joe and Transformers so I have high hopes too.

I go by the motto....if Hollywood gets its hands on it, it's crap.

I won't give in and watch it right away cuz its Transformers but I will give it its chance and see how it does.

I want to see this movie myself, but I'm keeping my hopes really low just in case they royally drop the ball on this one, and my money says that they probably will...

No doubt in the world that the effects are going to be all that and a 12-pack of beer...but what I'm afraid is going to happen with the script is that they'll focus on some group of people...who just so happen to interact with The Transformers, and The Transformers themselves will wind up taking a backseat to all the human drama. I hope this doesn't happen, but knowing Hollywood I wouldn't put it past them. Just look at how they screwed up Aliens vs Predator...gosh that movie was a piece of shit! They had all the makings of a winner for that movie...Aliens, Predators...totally awesome creatures with violence just waiting to erupt in blood gushing glory...and they STILL figured out a way to fuck it all up!
[Mad]

I may be wrong, and I really hope I am, because Optimus Prime, Megatron, and all the rest of those beloved heroes and villains really do deserve better. They're already strong in character, intriguing in design, and are ingrained parts of a whole lot of peoples' childhoods. If Hollywood treats this as just another money-making venture with no regard to character integrity, taking total liberty with too many things, there will be no forgiveness, and an immediate boycott should go into effect!

These aren't flash-in-the-pan characters that are here today and gone next week...these robots, these Transformers, have about a 20 year legacy behind them! The stakes were high before they even tapped out the first words of the script!

Then again, there was that total bastardization of (a personal favorite hero) Godzilla a few years back, and the Big G had at least a 40 year legacy behind him by that point...but don't even get me started on that utter shit-fest of a film!
[Mad] [Violent]

So I don't want to be a doom-sayer here...I hope The Transformers will live up to their name! Just remember who we're dealing with folks...it's Hollywood, where movies are only remembered by serial numbers and box office sales. Don't put a lot of faith into that industry.

I'm definitely seeing it with a fellow Tranformer fan as soon as it comes out. One of the movies I'm genuinely excited about for this year.

As Lou was namin' thos other movies with great concepts but shitty results The one that really gets me Is definately STREET-FIGHTER (Ahhhhh Van damme... don't even get me started)...

Another one is "Underworld"... An awesome concept.. Vampires vs Werewolves which didn't even tickle my expectations [Roll Eyes]

I liked Underworld, I had somewhat low expectations of it to begin with, so I ended up pleasantly surprised. But really, all it is is a prettied up B-movie that happens to star the smoking hot Kate Beckinsale in it, and you know what, that's okay.

Jeez, and don't get me started on Street Fighter, what a way to totally bastardize a great, legendary series. And while I'm on the subject of Capcom-based movies, I didn't care much for the the first Resident Evil movie, and really disliked the second one. I don't think I'll even see the third. Had they just kept it true to the actual canon storyline, they could've made a much better movie. Why the hell do they have to try and fix what ain't broken?

Add Mortal Combat to that list of disappointments. This was my first experience of the Hollywood waterdown. I expected more detailed fightscenes that showcased each characters special technics and powers. If I can remember, the movie looked low budget and did not feature the most popular characters.

Y'know, call me crazy, but I think a G.I. Joe movie might not be entirely out of the question. Who would you cast in it, at least for the 3 most vital roles in my opinion...Scarlett, Lady Jaye, and the Baroness, of course. [Big Grin]

I'm not too sure about the behind the scenes business side of things but.... What I think is.... "They" (Producers/Writers/Directors... whateva.... Creators & investors) Don't realize how important these cross-overs are.... (eg. Streetfighter, Mortal Kombat).. If they did then the concepts should be passed onto top level heirachy of the movie business that I would reckon would have an excellent return...

Crazy! [Tongue]

Just joking...but I don't see why it wouldn't be a feasible option for a movie. It's got a lot of cool characters and folks recognize it.

I don't know how true this is, but I heard a rumor that a new He-Man movie is in the works, and they've approached Brad Pitt to play the part! He was kinda' buff in Fight Club, but he's nowhere near as thick as he should be if he's going to play the part of "the most powerful man in the universe". Then again Dolph Lundgren didn't really look the part either back in the day, but he did a pretty decent job of playing a live-action He-Man.

As for who could play the parts of the girls in a G.I.Joe movie...I have no earthly clue. All I know is that whoever I'd pick never get cast in the role(s) anyway. For that matter, I had it figured out that Victoria "Posh" Beckham would've made a perfect Lara Croft. Not that Angelina Jolie was bad in the role of Ms. Croft, but still.

And while I'm rambling here, I hoped for a while that they'd make a movie of Battle Angel Alita and cast Lacey Chabert in the role. That girl was about 99% perfect to play that part...back in the day. Now she's gotten older, taller, and kinda' doesn't look like Alita anymore. [Cry]

I want to see it. I hope it will be decent. I rented the old animated Transformers movie recently for my lil boy and he LOVED that one. I think he will like this one just as much.

This is funny. It sounds like the talk that should be in the locker room in the 6th grade hall. [Big Grin]

That's because we're all young at heart...and the mere mention of either Transformers, G.I. Joe, Thundercats, Ghostbusters, or TMNT brings out the geek in me anyway.

Thunder........Thunder.........Thundercats....Whoa!

Samuel L. Jackson plays Panthro in a Thundercats movie...you heard it here first.

Terry Crews would be perfect for that role. I still remember when he played that silly character T-Money on 'Battle Dome'
