I like the smell of petrol. When I was little, I used to watch my dad pour in the (2 stroke) petrol into the lawn mower, I used to watch it closely just to sniff it while it was goin' in..... Hmmmmmmmmmm maybe that's why I may sound a lil' looney at times....lol [Big Grin]

I know someone who likes the smell of new toys or that new plastic smell straight out the wrapper....

Do you like the smell of any weird things other than womans feet/shoes/foot-related stuff?

I like the smell of low tide...The sulfer smell of low tide makes me think of the exposed muck and that makes me think of sinking into it - and that makes me want to [Jerkoff]

I'm guessing now in adulthood you huff gas for fun and amusement FLZ? [Big Grin]

Here's one from way back in school days when I was a kid. The teacher brings fresh printed copies of an exam or other handout straight from the printer and the smell of the ink on the warm paper hits you. Everyone in class is holding the paper to their nose and taking a whiff too...

I always liked the smell of the bus fumes at the Greyhound, Trailways or local bus depo's.

I also like the smell of petrol.

Wet asphalt after a summer rain is also nice.

I have a balloon fetish, so that rubber smell is great, too.

The smell of freshly painted nails do it for me, too [Wink]

The smell of rain as it dampens the earth. That's the top of the list for me.

New toy smell, new book smell [sometimes], new car smell. Yes LeDaemon I remember that too as a kid the fresh smell of printed material your teacher would hand out back in elementary school.

I like the smell of laundry as I finish drying it.

The smell of laundry isn't weird, is it? I also like the smell of petrol. Burning wood is another I kind of enjoy.

I used to like the smell of rubber cement, gas, and the fuel that drag cars used to run with...

I too love the smell of gasoline! Don't know why!

Another weird smell I like - turpentine!

And the smell of the mix they use for women's hair permanents [Smile] It was the only reason I sat still as a child when my mom would want to curl my hair -- I loved the smell! But I hated the result! LOL

For any of you who have, lil' siblings, kids, nephews/nieces still in elemetry school (referred to 'primary school' in NZ), do you find that the classroom smell is still there of elementry art paint and a mixture of other stuff?

Just to add I also like the smell of freshly dried clothes out the dryer and also like the smell of play-dough.

Because I'm a little older, I recall exactly what you are talking about - how I did love that smell! It was called "mimeograph"; the print was blue, right? The process was entirely different from any copy process use today: Once the original was typed, it had to be retyped on a special form of, for lack of a better term, carbon paper which (long story short) colored blank sheets that were hand cranked through a developing agent (the smell we love). The paper had to dry a little before it was handed out.

I, too, enjoy the smell of freshly dried clothing but there is nothing and I mean NOTHING that beats the scent of line-dried sheets, either for smell or feel. If anybody has the chance to put their sheets outside to dry in the sun and the breeze, I think their slumber will be a different and very pleasant experience.

That is exactly it Toetapper, the mimeograph! How many purplish quizes I had to snort then write on!

Oh my gawrsh Perfect Peds. That smell by far is the most VILE odor in the world to me! Walking by one of those salons in the mall and the smell of chemicals hanging at its entrance always made me gag. Not enough though to keep me from putting a perm in a mullet I had back in 1988 though. [Laugh]

That's one of my all time favs Ledaemon, as well as your first post of stuff hot off the printer.

Personally, i always liked the smell of brand new paper, like draft paper, graph papers, etc. Even new notebooks. Sitting here now that i think about it, i love the way my fingers smell after i've smoked a cigarette. For about an hour or so after you can still smell it, and for some reason i like it. Also like the smell of skin, my own and my girlfriends. That's as odd as i think it gets for me asides from a girls feet.

I've often wandered if my thing for the way certain things smell has play on my foot fetish or is correlated in some way.

You're right LeDeamon, it was more purple than blue! I do recall that I had some teachers who possessed a sense of humor that would deeply inhale the whole stack before handing out the individual sheets...now I wonder how many models they assembled at home.

Cut Grass

Not at the same time though

I also really used to love the smell of gasoline as a kid. Not as an inhalant, but incidental exposure was always pleasurable. It seems to me I read one time a scientific explanation as to why this is so popular. But after some Google searching, I can find nothing of the kind.

Edit: Ditto on the cut grass!

For some reason or another everytime I clean my guns I just have to indulge in the smell of Hoppe's No.9 solvent. It just smells so good !

Posted by Bootman (Member # 1280) on :

I forgot about cut grass, the smell of weed burning in the pipe, gasoline always smells great. The smell of diesel fuel as it's burning (smell of truck stops or just outside of a rig reminds me of summers on the road with the ol'man) And as crazy diamond brought up, i love the smell of hoppe's no.9 solvent as i clean the 12 guage, 22 mag, 30-30, 7mm mag, etc.

All good smells, and smells as music seem to have memories attached to them.

i had a recepie for cake and there was one ingredient that my mom let me use (the name my mom used for it is the french word for gasoline, though not it's actual name). i think it's actually vanilla extract... awesome smell.

i guess i don't have any werid smell i like except one (hard to get to in it's natural setting).. but the smell of cold wet freshly dug dirt... at it's ideal.. snow covered near frozen dirt that got dug up from spinning tires.. that smell is off the hook! but rare to reproduce or run into.

I love the rainy earth and gasoline smell too. I also love the way books smell the first time they're opened -- something about the crisp smell of ink and paper makes me happy.

i LOVE the smell of second hand book stores... the paper and leather and dust, kind of stuffy because the places are generally small, without windows.

i also love the smell of citronella, salt water and sun screen - smells like childhood [Smile] luckily i get to smell that one a lot in summer haha

I like the smell of the acetone and acrylic mix they use for fake fingernails. I've never had them on myself, but my mom used to use it in the house all the time when I was growing up.

Gasoline. And I smell all my food before I eat it!
I like the smell of MOuntain Dew, haha.

I also like the smell of getting new shoes straight out of the box. New cars, new toys! Pretty much anything new out of the box tends to smell good.

Gear oil. It always reminds me of the roller coasters at the amusement park. My birthday was always a couple days before the school picnic where we would go there so it also reminds me of my childhood.

I like the smell that comes right before the rain. I also like the smell of Indoor and outdoor organic marijuana. Especially fresh out the nug jar. Even the nug jar itself. The smell of the beach. I hate the smell of your palm after holding change in. Have any of you ever floss and smelled the string? I dare you.

I enjoy the smell of cut grass but only when its faint. I like the ozone-y smell my old monitor used to give off. And I absolutely LOVE the smell of dryer sheets. that smell makes my mouth water for some reason.
Actually my best day ever was walking home and having the smell of a nearby laundromat merge with the smell of the boston market next to it. MMMM mountain fresh, rotisserie chicken.

I like the smell of diesel, some paints and glues, ROADWORKS (though I don't know what the exact smell is, but I love it) and the smell of some new leaflets lol, especially card.
