I'm a huge smartphone addict and am always keeping up to date with the latest devices. I'm interested to see if anyone else is uber hardcore about this.

Here's my setup
- Motorola Milestone
- running Android 2.1 (rooted)

T-mo mytouch 3g which I've had a little over a year. Pretty happy with it though where I live I don't even have 3g service. But that's the carrier not the phone.

I pick up 3G without any problem in my area, but 4G coverage is spotty. If I drive about 3 miles I can pick up 4G, but not at my house.

What's a smartphone? Gotta cheap-phone....lol [Big Grin]

Costed $30 AUD at the time of purchase and is probably worth fuck-all now. It breaks up into 4 pieces whenever I drop it; battery cover, battery, main phone and the rubber button key pad. Parts clip back together with no problem.

Colour screen, polyphonic ringtones with no camera and no mp3 player.

My last phone broke and this one was a cheap gap-filler or tie-over until I got a new one.......... that was a year and a half ago [Thud] ..... Anyhoo still does me fine and I ain't embarassed by it, so I asnwer calls and text without a care..... and here she is....

the damndest thing is that there's no T-Mo 3g (much less 4g) in or entire county. I may be switching from T-Mo next upgrade if that doesn't change REAL soon!

I find 3g adequate, wont be rushing out for a 4g phone anytime soon

Palm pre plus, webOS 1.4.5, preware homebrew installed with several patches including uberkernel and govnah for overclocking :-). I usually run 800/600 dependent on screenstate. I've had it at 1ghz stable, but it heats up so much you can fry an egg on it.

It's a pile of crap, keep waiting to my HTC thunderbolt but it keeps getting delayed due to battery life issues.

Nice, motorola should be releasing 2.2 at the end of Q1, if your in europe I think their rolling it out shortly as well.

If your impatient and pretty techy you can install cyanogen 6.1.2 and not have to wait. The dev's are working on CM7 now (2.3) Yea!!!! So awesome because I'm pretty damn sure motorola will not update past 2.2

Just watch the heat, my phone was in the mid to high 40's with an overclock, wifi hotspot active and battery plugged in. I took it down a notch since I can't open it up and cram a huge copper heatsink on it like my computers.

good call thanks for the tips. I'm at 900mhz now. Kind of annoyed with setcpu, after each reboot i need to reset it to whatever i want it at. Default goes to 900mhz for some weird ass reason.

another thing my cyanogen 6.1.2 keeps hanging maybe once a day and i need to do a battery pull, soo annoying. waiting on motorola to release 2.2 at the end of Q1 then i'll probably go to that so i can avoid battery pulls. all i really care about is flash and apps2d. even though motorola most likely wont put out 2.3 for the milestone ill be content with 2.2.

I'm using Blackberry Torch. Coolest phone I've ever owned. But after seeing my friends Galaxy 2X, I realize that my phone needs some catching up to do to be competitive with all the other phones out there.

Same here. I'm using a first generation BlackBerry Torch, and I love it. I don't need all the fancy extras that everyone elses smart phone does. I can text, call, and go on Facebook. There is no need for anything else.

Only apps I use are ones for the weather, movie listings and phone number lookup. There really isn't any reason for a PHONE to do anything else hahaha.

Perhaps I'm just resistant to this new notion that phones have to do everything.
