Hi all,

Athena and I have made the decision to try and do something new and different every month for the foreseeable future.

By different, I'm not talking like "try a restaurant you've never been to" I mean more out-of-the-box thinking, for example, this week we're attending the Spanish Film Festival, next month, we're going to give Jive lessons a go...

Has anyone got any ideas as to some "different" things we can try out - perhaps something you yourself enjoyed or just know that it exists even.

Cheers guys. [Smile]

See a comedian at a club or go see a play. Seeing live performances is always very memorable.

Go shoot a gun at a firing range

Yeah, I enjoy clay pigeon shooting, but Athena's a bit shaky about guns, so probably not. Might be able to convince her though...

And thanks LeDamon - already do that haha

A couple of years ago, I saw her uni doing A Midsummer Night's Dream...was really odd to hear Shakespeare in an Australian accent haha

And the year before that, we went to see Agatha Christie's Moustrap for the fa-billionth performance at its first venue in London. Good play.

What about charity work? You ever volunteered at a homeless shelter or at like a troubled youth center?

Pole dancing class. Never tried it but a have seen a few TV show hosts try and it's funny to watch.

If yous do try, I would suggest wearing crash helmets. Especially watching a few of these disasters.

That's a decent idea actually. The problem may arise that she doesn't have time though (first year out full-time teacher and the workload doesn't stop until she falls asleep. Like...literally. maybe in the holidays...

Anyway, I'm not in the best shape to tell the truth haha

Talos: I'll work on it...

So Andy, any updates on this? Have yous been up to anything new as of late?

FootLong: Ha, well I have to admit we haven't given pole dancing a try. We're both too self-conscious to give it a go.

The next one on the list is probably lawn bowls - there's a club local to us so we'll suss it out...

Talos/Panic: because I'm not yet a resident (awaiting the decision) it's a bit tricky to go out shooting because apparently I'm a bona fide terrorist.

SoleSearcher: I've done my time at the Red Cross. Absolutely loved it in my local shop in England - volunteered for 6 months, but the local shop here in Australia were absolute arseholes to me, so I just thought "Fuck it; I don't need to take this." I was there for like 3/4 months. Plus, we couldn't do that together - Athena's a first year out teacher now and she's waaaay too busy to work in her free time.

LeDaemon - we did indeed go to a comedy night a couple of weeks back which was good fun. $15 tickets - can't go wrong [Smile]

Try highpointing! Visit the highest point of your state/province, and make subsequent highpoint visits to adjacent states/provinces.
