Hey fellas, I figure why not create a thread about reviewing movie's and tv shows, I'm always on the lookout for new shows or movies to watch so hopefully this thread gets lots of input!
Today I'm heading out to see "Neighbors" and "Godzilla". I'll give my review when I get home. I LOVE going to movies by myself for some reason. Especially when the theatre is almost empty. I like nerdin' it up and seeing movies back to back, good way to kill an afternoon
Maybe for future reviews give a ranking system 1-5 perhaps and NO SPOILERS, just a good quick review and why a guy should or shouldn't see it. Feel free to throw in any foot clips that we should stay tuned for too

I might go see Godzilla next week, let us know how you liked or didn't like it.

I enjoyed both "Godzilla" and "Neighbors". The summer season is off to a solid start. "Spiderman 2" was enjoyable - okay - but nothing GREAT...

Back from those movies, Neighbors was decent, a few good laughs...felt like it tried to be a frat movie too hard at times but if you are on the fence of seeing it I'd recommend it. 3 out of 5 stars for Neighbors.
Godzilla was great! Not amazing but simply great. A lot of shit getting blown up, good amount of drama, set up for a possible 2nd one down the road perhaps too. I saw it in 3D... speaking of which, I'm getting sick of the whole 3D gimmick...hate having to put glasses on to watch a movie. But I digress, a solid 4 out of 5 for Godzilla.

Just watched "Knights of Badassdom" starring Steve Zahn, Ryan Kwanten(True Blood) and Peter Dinklage(Tyrion of Game of Thrones).
Reminded me of "Your Highness" with Danny McBride and James Franco. Not a thinking movie that's for sure lol revolves around a group of friends going to a dungeons and dragons style of game except real life play and one of them summons a demon by mistake.
A lot of gory scenes, a few laughs and great soundtrack(if you're into doom metal). I give it a 3 outta 5.
Next up, "Stalingrad".

Didn't get to watch Stalingrad, BUT I DID just go see "A Million Ways to Die in the West" starring Seth MacFarlane and Charlize Theron! Friggin' hilarious movie! Highly recommend it! I seen some bad reviews, man people have to lighten up and learn to laugh a little.
Seth will go on random rants throughout the movie but they make perfect sense(even though movie is set in 1882). I won't ruin the movie but it's definetly worth the price of admission, especially if you like Family Guy humor.

Just finished Robocop(I'm on days off right now, feeling like a hermit lol). I liked it, could have had more of a him being a cop but it kind of just threw him into his own story(if that makes sense) as opposed to him being a RoboCOP. I give it a 2.5 outta 5.

47 Ronin. Pretty good, nothing spectacular but a good watch. I think this movie woulda been better if it were split into 2 parts maybe. Even though the movie was lengthy in time, It still felt like it was a little rushed.

Edge of Tomorrow. Great action sequences and a pretty good storyline. Although the concept is not new, I don't think it's been done enough to become cliche' .

Saw Transformers: Age of Extinction. Action was good, story was not very good. But I don't go to see them for the story, I go to see the action and special effects. I give it a 3 out of 5.

Just saw Transformers 4 and I liked it a lot... Like how they wrote the new storyline. Non stop action as well.

Just seen that yesterday, I agree too guys, lots of action but man...pretty bad when Wahlberg is the only solid actor in the movie. The daughter was great to look at though

"Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes". Awesome flick. Gotta see this big screen. Give it 4.5 *.

Did anyone see "The Purge"? What a fucked up waste of time IMO..the only good thing was Adelaide Kane the daughter. Wow is she hot! Gives a quick sole shot in white stockings at the beginning of the movie.

Wondering if anyone has seen The Leftovers on HBO yet? Is it worth starting a new series?

Seen Lucy last night. Had a very interesting, cool concept yet turned into a mindfuck of a movie. Ending was horrible. Waste of $30 and 2 hours of my life. 2 outta 5.
Also saw The Purge: Anarchy. I liked it better then the first. More killing, liked the story line, intertwined the 5 stories into one nicely. I give it a 4 outta 5.

Thanks for the heads-up, the trailer got me really hard with excitement. Now I'll just wait for it to come out on dvd
How did you like the movie "Limitless"? Just testing your taste in a movie.
Posted by bluetoelover (Member # 14736) on :
Thought Limitless was great personally. I have buddies that thought it was fucked up and weren't impressed though. Cooper can act thats for sure.

Looking forward to the new show "Gotham" the reviews are pretty good from what I hear.

Saw previews of Gotham too and it looks awesome!
Just started watching "Penny Dreadful" with Eva Green(some nice foot shots of her too ) and Josh Hartnett. Set back in 1881 London and involves everything from a young Dr. Frankenstein, to vampires to werewolves! I'm only on episode 4 of the first season(8 shows altogether) and I'm hooked already! Highly recommend it!

Was talking to some friends and they tell me 'Orange Is The New Black' is good. Not really into the sexist and/or Lesbo prison scene but I've been suprised by shows I didn't initially like by the general overall storyline of the series. eg. Drug dealing/manufacture of Breaking Bad

Lucy was just released on DVD this week. Was waiting for its release and finaly watched it. I really liked it I think going in with low expectations due to low reviews may have contributed to my liking.
I've often thought about what's beyond our brains theoretical 10% use vs it's full capacity. I found this movie visually, emotionally and mentally satisfying.
4 stars

Focus - Will Smith. Nothing spectacular but not bad either. Keeps you guessing, not so much of a mind fuck but a good watch in it's own right. Watched it in the cinema but wouldn't go rushing out to see it, probably wait for it's release to DVD/BlueRay Margot Robbie has amazing lips and teeth . Wanted to pash her right off the bat
