I'm making a CD/mp3-playlist for when I hit the freeway open-road which can be boring. Are there certain songs that make your driving a little more enjoyable? So just asking, what are 5 songs (or more) that are in your playlist that you like to listen to on the freeway and/or open road?

Yeah, the Golden Earring song is definitely a cruising song and that Sabbath song is one of my faves.

I'll list a few not in any order, but just stuff I like to hear when I'm driving. Some aggressive when traffic is a bitch and some for when its a nice drive out in the open road.

Black Sabbath - "Into the Void"

Yes - "Awaken"

Metallica - "Anesthesia/Whiplash"

Anything by The Beatles

I listen to albums mostly and have an iPod classic with about 1000 albums I ripped from my cd collection that I play through the stereo. If you want to do it further and go what albums wind up in rotation often I would say:

Black Sabbath - "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath"

Aphrodite's Child - "666"

The Beatles - "White Album"

Led Zeppelin - "Led Zeppelin 3"

Iron Maiden - "Piece of Mind"

King Crimson - "Discipline" or "In the Court of the Crimson King"

Perhaps my ultimate driving song is "In the Air" by Phil Collins. It's a mandatory roll down the window song, especially at night.

Probably wouldn't be able to give you any albums (other than the entirety of "The Chronic" by Dr. Dre), but songs I love to drive to include:

"It Was a Good Day" - Ice Cube
"Ventura Highway" - America
"California Love" - Tupac Shakur
"One of These Nights" - The Eagles
"Thunderstruck" - AC/DC
"Low Rider" - War

....amongst others, of course.

There's so many songs I couldn't narrow it down to just 5, but the first one that comes to mind would be Highway Star by Deep Purple.
