For as long as it lasts we should enjoy the feet we get to see at airports (i heard the rules are changing and you no longer have to take the shoes of)

Ive heard bits and pieces of the shoes not coming off any more...not that I travel that much any more but seeing a few barefoot girls did help to lessen the wait and hassle of the security checkpoint

Wouldn't catch me shooting photos in an airport these days - celebs or not. Even if there are fans doing it everywhere, just not into being yanked aside on the slim chance someone wants to see what I am taking photos of in the interest of "National Security."
As for taking your shoes off at the airport, when I went to Vegas last July, everyone in my group had to do so at BWI and at Vegas. We actually landed in Philly first on the way home, but since we didn't leave the terminal areas, we weren't checked again there.

I wouldn't do this to random strangers, but if there was a celebrity taking their shoes off at an airport I'd be a lot closer. For a once in a lifetime thing I wouldn't care how obvious I was and I wouldn't really care if some jackoff I didn't even know had a problem with it. Hell, I'd ask her if I could take some close ups of her toes! Like goodguyneighbor, he doesn't care about what the people seeing him photographing think. Except for the time someone did have a problem with it and it ended up being more than photos and the celeb ended up going on Joe Rogan to voice concern. You have to be careful not just around TSA doing this but control (to a point) outside of airports, not just because you don't care about what others think but other legal ramifications you don't think about.

Quality, clean college-aged gals with clean feet and bubbly personalities is much more successful and respected at least in the majority of circles that matter to the foot fetish community.
Also what makes a successful foot photographer in this world is one who actually participates in community discussion topics and posts other colleagues' photos as a tribute for their contribution in a variety thread; spends hours on end on the phone with other producers helping fix technical problems on their website, answering e-mails,messages from fans etc...is the true Success Story.
Copy/Pasted testimonials from anonymous internet posters never counts as "world renowned" IMHO. In any case, I would love to see an actual foot fetish photographer someday have the cajones to walk up and proposition some of these celebs like a regular paparazzi for some real foot shots and see what their reactions are. Who knows we might see some great sole shots of our favorite women right here on Wu's firsthand someday other than screencaps from a movie. Until then, the candid airports shots will have to suffice.

You're right I am sure about those celebs..some would feel flattered I am sure. On your other point, I as well have gotten over my fears from early on in my career of shooting in public and worrying about what others may be thinking passing by. You get into "The Zone" and the whole world goes away while you work (and enjoy) the beautiful feet in front of your camera. Despite popular beliefs from the non-successful and internet randoms, there's really no special "balls" you have to grow to do this which is really comical and fallacious at the same time.
