Back in 2008 my daughter took dance lessons at a prestigious dance academy in midtown and I would need to go pick her up to bring her home after class. I had to leave the park to go get her and had not got anything that day so I was a little disappointed, but responsibilities are responsibilities. So off I went to get her.
Across the street from the building with the academy was an office building that had a ledge around its plaza and as I was walking by I saw this incredible sight -- a very exotic girl relaxing at the edge of the ledge (where it met the building) with her shoes off and her feet propped up on her bag. I'd seen bags like that endless times and it seemed very clear to me that this woman was also a dancer, probably studying or teaching at the academy. I could not resist so I texted my daughter that I was late so she should hang out upstairs until I arrived. She never minded hanging out there so she texted me right back "ok!!!" and I went over and sat on the ledge.
The woman quickly eyed me but went back to her day planner and her cellphone (this was in the days before smartphones). I took at my camera and put it on the ledge, very nonchalantly, and put a little prop under the front so it was angled up just enough to center the action in my viewfinder. Then I just let nature take its course. It seems pretty clear she knew what I was doing -- I mean the camcorder was pointed right at her bare soles -- but she seemed to have that bohemian sense of live and let live and she just texted, looked at her planner, and listened to music as she wriggled her shapely, plump feet around. Very sexy stuff, and she's so alluring and exotic. Her feet were very shapely and extremely well tended-to for a dancer -- they usually have calluses. Several years ago I posted some caps of this and European guys quickly concluded that she's a gypsy (Roma if you prefer) making her even more mysterious and sexy.
I told myself 15 minutes late was about as late as I could be without feeling too guilty, but she uncrossed her ankles after about 12 minutes, and I decided I couldn't make my daughter wait any longer so I packed up. I went across the street and got my daughter. When I left she was still on the ledge but had put her strappy heels back on. She saw me walking my daughter to the subway and gave me the quirkiest little smile, and I gave her a sheepish smile back. (This is an EDD (early digital days) segment that was shot on mini-DV tape.)
