It was a sweltering day in the Puget Sound area. Footgirl Jewel and I went to some antique shops and a farmer's market - we had NO idea how hot it would be, and how much it would sap from us. I did take advantage of the time to catch some artsy images of Miss Jewel - and her hot feet.
How much is that footgirl in the window? Priceless! It's Miss Jewel, imitating a manequin.
While setting up for (and taking) these, we drew a lot of attention from passers-by. She had that traffic crawling by, and a lot of questions generated.
Then we both took refuge inside, to take advantage of the cool space and air conditioning. Jewel, perched barefoot and beautiful.
We ordered cold, refreshing frapuccino drinks and spent plenty of time inside, safe from the blistering sun.
Jewel cools her Heels and puts her feet up. I LOVE girls who are bold enough, and confident enough in the beauty of their feet, to put them on the table. Such a statement!
Nothing goes better with quality coffee drinks than female FEET! And as feet go, Jewel's taste (and smell) even better than the coffee.
Sunburned Jewel and her hot feet ... so that's how I spent a sweltering day in the Puget Sound; getting hot, bothered, burned and then cooled, refreshed and excited by the beautiful feet of footgirl Jewel. I leave you with a prefunctory "Hallmark Moment" foot photo.

It was sweltering, and I think that brought the best out of Miss Jewel. She translated those hot feet right through the lens and into the resultant photographs.

She remains an absolute beauty, and I still hold to My first compliment that she looks like a porcelain doll. This is so evident in these photos too. With her fair skin, flush colored cheeks, gentle eyes, and full lips...she looks like a prized doll on display for all to see as they pass by her in the heat. Stunning!

...and lips she does have! Great photography on this set. Well, all of your work is always top notch Ben. This one stands out to me more than the others for some reason. Is it the subject material or soft filtering...? Thanks for sharing with us!
I might have had some luck on this one; all these photographs were taken using existing light (and the light kept changing). On some of the inside photos where Miss Jewel was sitting on the window ledge, I thought of using some fill flash - but then decided to just shoot and let the shadows fall where they may. In the end, we both loved the way she looked.

You really hit the nail on the head with your porcelain doll analogy. It's something that had occured to me the first time I saw Miss Jewel, and it's very easy to capture on film (and in photos)- because those qualities are so strong. She makes the photographer's job very easy.

One of the things that's going to make Miss Jewel a standout footgirl, is her willingness to do anything asked - in the furtherance of feet. She will get in a car (or on top of one), sit on a motorcycle, cross the street barefoot (in Downtown Seattle), even sit in a publc window on a crowded street. On that last shot - it was taken with a 35mm camera in manual mode. I stepped the aperture way down to create as much depth-of-field as was possible, given the size of the room (and speed of the lens). That took care of everything behind her. To match up what was in front (and beneath her) I hand tinted most of it, then scanned the print and softened out the rest.
I colored in the window behind her and sharpened the areas around her head to create something of a "halo" effect. A few months ago, I bought a graphics tablet and am having a lot of fun with it - and in experimenting with new techniques in photoshop, etc.

The one word that best describes her is "sultry". Her soles looked slightly sweaty being propped up on the table, it must have been from the sweltring heat.
Quick question, though...I couldn't get a good view of her toes, what color was she wearing? It looked like my favorite French peds, but it's difficult to tell. Thanks Ben.

I recently saw (and commented) on a post of yours with some excellent monochrome photos, with something of a sepia tone; and have been thinking of doing a series (and subsequent post) along those lines. Shot with film versus digital.

Yes, she's got that "redhead" complexion to deal with, and (as you know) the benefits of being a beautiful redhead also come with a weakness for direct sun and delicate, fair skin that is easily burned; a cross all redheads must bear. In the end, it's worth it!

It is the french tip treatment, something Miss Jewel prefers. That's her first preference, and if not that, then a very deep, rich shade of red, something akin to her preferred lip shades.

That's the funny thing, Tyler - These escapades-in-feet have always served as one of my primary forms of personal entertainment. They absorb a LOT of my time, and therefore I have to rely on these people for my social life as well. I sometimes wonder if or how that would change, if I ever did a pay site.

Yes, well it's a nice fit - spend all your time in the pursuit of feet, and it ends up being a big part of your social life. I need the comfort of having somebody to have lunch with, somebody with whom I can watch a movie, go camping or just driving around ... or (as in this case) just go bumming around on a hot day, looking at anqitues. Our little "Girlswithfeet" family, though a bit disfunctional at times, is one I'd probably not trade for any other set of circumstances.

I'm not very good with photo editing software - mostly because I'm lazy when it comes to that. I meet a new footgirl, take a few hundred photos, then get home and have a difficult time facing the daunting task of editing them; probably part of the reason I've never had a pay site, despite my resources. I'm pretty average with photoshop, not bad with some of the lighter applications (but still lazy).

actually, i almost did a set of pics similar to that with a bride who got married recently. she knows i like heels and feet and was willing to do som pics in a style similar to this. however.. we ran out of time and fiance needed her attention. darnit!!!!!!
but one day, i'll have a bride model her feet similar to this set!!!

That sounds like a great idea, and I've always found it fascinating, just how often you see bare feet in wedding photos - the maids of honour, the bride herself. I've seen photos of the bride and maids of honor with their feet in the stream, or near a fountain, etc. Also, the fact that some women prefer to be barefoot during the ceremony itself. Jewel is one of those! She dreams of a wedding in Maui, and to be barefoot during the ceremony. Fascinating.

the next wedding I have to do, i already know, i won't be able to do such a set. wrong time of the year... and plus, the bride doesn't seem to open to novel photo ideas.
but, yeah.. incorporating feet into a shot sounds delicious and I hope to get that opportunity soon!!!

Agreed. I'm always a little shocked when a women props her feet up and puts them on display like that. It's rare to see in public settings and especially mesmerizing if she has really beautiful and active feet.
