Does anyone have one? I like my fighting games and have the old-skool feel of having better control using the joystick 6 button config deck as opposed to the normal hand controllers.

Will be gettin' one soon but wondering those who have em', whats your veiw on them? Pros/Cons? Or you might have a better suggestion.

as far as Hori goes, the most solid in my opinion is the Soul Calibur V stick, as it's what I use personally, though I also have the VX SA(found here) http://stores.horiusa.com/-strse-160/Xbox-360-Real-Arcade/Detail.bok

the V3 won't be awful but I'd take something a bit more sturdy. The SCV stick has a better skeleton, buttons as well as the stick itself. it's fairly easy to mod if you're interested in that too. probably a bit higher priced though.

If you want other options, any MadCatz( http://store.gameshark.com/listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=274 ) stick is actually very good. they specialize in making arcade sticks and there's a bunch of different ones now.

Qanba/Eightarc sells dual modded arcade sticks which means you can switch to XBOX360 or PS3 simply by flipping a switch to do so, so if you have a PS3 and you wanna play games at your friend's house and don't feel like bringing your stuff, he has a 360 and you guys are gonna play the same game, you can bring your stick, flip to 360 mode, plug in and be good to go.

www.eightarc.com the Qanba Q4 model is a great purchase.

the button layout varies a bit from company to company and sometimes even stick models, but with these 3 groups you definitely can't go wrong.

DO keep in mind that during a lot of major tournament events, some of these have discounts(up to $60 dollars off, so if you can handle to wait a little, bit i'd do that.) I think the next event that will have a MadCatz sponsor will be UFGT, information can be found here: http://ufgtus.wordpress.com/

the stream information and everything else should be up there, so at pretty much anytime during that weekend I'd just tune in for a bit, watch some games and grab your discount on whatever few things you might want. it's well worth it and I almost never buy anything like that outside of events.

really hope this helped, sorry for giving you an ear..well, eye full. This is something I'm very passionate about lol

As for fighting games, I'm your typical Street Fighter 2 player and was in the top leagues of my time. But nower days my skills pale in comparison to other players. Tried Street Fighter 4 in the main arcade in the city and would say I'm in the mid range winning a few and loosing a few. Maybe I'd play you sometime.

The skins on those decks are pretty sikkk, thanks heaps for the info [Thumbs Up] .

Personally, I find that if you absolutely need a joystick, you can't go wrong with an X-Arcade. Thing is made with real arcade parts, and if you're like me and prefer the stiffer responsiveness of an American-style stick, this is the one for you.

definitely wouldn't mind getting some games in sometime! However, since you used "heaps" i'm making a(probably awful) assumption that you're australian, so I think we'd lag a ton online haha

If you do prefer an American style stick, you can find a MAS Stick, which has the basic 6/8 button layout for fighters here: http://www.arcadeshock.com/items/mas-system-pro-arcade-sticks/list.htm

I've personally never tried an X Arcade but if you want the extra buttons and have a cheaper 2 player setup it looks like it couldn't be too horrible.

sorry for getting back so late.
