Seems the fight between these two multi weight division boxing specialists seem to be heating up again. They've been at the 'almost' a couple times but due to outter circumstances the fight never happened. Some say Paquiao is the only one who will tarnish Mayweather's perfect record, others say Paquiao has no chance. Right now the social media is on fire in wanting this fight to happen. Individual taunts from each fighter is sparking media interest, who will win if this does go through?

I aint the avid boxing spectator but have seen Paquiao fight and I think Paquiao will run Mayweather over. But who knows? Anyone else looking forward to this possible match up?

May 2, 2015 is the date that Floyd wants to get in the ring with Paquiao.

I'm not into boxing at all, but I do know that that's a fight I wouldn't miss for the world. For some reason, though, I feel as if something stupid and unexpected would happen that would make everyone feel as if they've been ripped off. Whatever that thing is, I feel that it would be Mayweather who would be behind it. I feel that Floyd would be the one responsible for making this the biggest disappointing fight in all of boxing and that everyone is going to lose their respect for him.

Here are three recent clips from First Take in which the topic was about those two.

November 28 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWhh2Ov7lI4
December 15 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZr6Z8cBXzI
December 16 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCLwG3IfuVg

I think you will find these discussions quite amusing, FootLongSub.

^^I know what you mean about the respect being lost if this fight never happens, and to add that Mayweather is about to retire sometime this year as he has said mentioned in an article last September. I just want this done and dusted and hope that Mayweather isn't milking time. As in one of the links you've left, one of the dudes mentioning the greats like Ali, Sugar Ray and Tyson because of how good they were and not being great due to their fight 'record. I would think that his perfect record wouldn't have much significance if he retired without fighting Paquiao. He might be branded as the boxer with a perfect insignificant record.

This needs to happen, but no matter who wins or how they win, controversy will be front and center.

[Hop] May 2nd!!!! [Hop] Can't wait [Woot] . I pick Paquiao to win unanimous decision although I'd like to see a knockout, of course not easily, but I think it'll be the hardest fight of his entire career. I think a majority of the world will stop to watch this one. I know I will . 👊

Here's a clip from from First Take earlier today

March 11 -- https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=rH03yYCzuGI

In this clip, Manny Paquiao himself was on the show (via satellite) talking about the fight. The interview starts to get very comical at the 3:30 mark. If you're rooting of Manny, you'll find this clip amusing!

[Thumbs Up] [Woot] [Thumbs Up] Lol [Laugh] good interview. Don't think Paquiao will win by knockout though. I predict it will go the full 12, in saying that, might chuck a few bucks on Paquiao to knock Mayweather out in the 8th, just for the odds.

I watched it earlier on my phone just checking again to edit my post on my PC but seems the video has been removed. Hmmmmmm I'm thinkin' Mayweather maybe behind this? [Tongue]

I liked how Manny backed up his confidence by having a non-direct hit by saying things like he was more worried about past opponents than Floyd. I also liked how Manny backed up a comment about how it would be good for boxing to beat Floyd, saying sometimes (not pointing fingers) some athletes success goes to their head. We all know who he's indirectly pointing to. I'm not too familiar with the sports hosts but the dude on the left was wayyyyyy hot under the collar while Manny was just humbly lauging it off. Now I want to see an interview with Mayweathers response to this [Eek!]

I posted another link to that video. It seems like the clips to the other three links I posted months ago have disappeared as well. I'll have to look for them and re-post them whenever I have the time to do so.

And I have a new clip to share here. I didn't see this one, so I'm just going to post this without knowing what was said in it. Basically the topic was about a Floyd Mayweather Jr. that one of the hosts of the show conducted.

https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=66E-pUdd9qk

The day after that interview, the guy on the right side of the screen (Skip Bayless) was a bit worried in that he felt that Manny laughing as much as he did might have taken some of his focus away from taking that fight seriously.

His name is Stephen A. Smith. He makes the show very entertaining to watch. Years ago he would co-host the show once a week and I found myself being more interested in the show whenever he was on. The ratings were so good when he was on that he was asked to be on the show on a permanent basis.

Yeah they need to start looking for someone a little younger to replace Skip. Hes good for now but hes getting up there in age...dont know how much longer he'll be around.

But as far as this fight goes, Ive got Mayweather to win by decision or a 7th round KO. KO only because Manny might run in and get caught and 7th because after that, Floyd might not even have the power to KO him even while hes running in. But Floyd is too much of a masterful boxer for Manny IMO.

I think this has been hyped up far too much. The event will be great because its going to be the most watched and probably the highest paying fight in history but a LOT OF PEOPLE are going to get disappointed if they're looking for Pac to shut Floyds mouth. [Thumbs Up]
