It was a couple weeks ago, I think. I was watching Dateline. They were running that special where it's guys who meet 'underaged girls' and try to sex them up. Finally, when the guys show up to the girl's house, they find out it was an undercover police officer posing as a minor? Well, when this bald guy walks in, and sits down 'waiting for his minor', the narrator speaks and says, "This man, with a /foot fetish/ came here to meet a thirteen year old girl." Somehow, that made me a little mad. Like, "It's not bad enough that he's here to sleep with a child, but he has a /foot fetish/." And at home some guy is sitting with his wife and kids saying, "What a sick, sick bastard." And the little girl going, "I'm afraid to wear sandals, Daddy!' "Don't worry, honey. You'll meet a good man to grope your things that you feed children with later in life. /That's/ a man."
I don't know, I guess it brings me into the whole television image thing. Like, I actually admitt to being an /anime fan/ before admitting that I have a foot fetish to a girl. That's pretty bad. Of course, I don't say either for a long time into the relationship. But, I mean, it just seems like everyone is against us. And, it kills me, because it's alright for a guy, pretty early on, to grab a girl's humps, but the second he's like "I like your foot." It's like, "OHMYGOSHWEIRDO." I've yet to have that happen to me, but still it's a constant fear in my mind. I'm glad after being with my girlfriend I'll never have to worry about it, again. But, still, it'd be nice if /someone/ on /some/ news channel said /one/ even /okay/ thing about people with foot fetishes. Like, even "It's just another part of the body."
Of course, I've seen posts all over here about some show talking bad about us. Just wanted to add another.

i wish you were right about breaking the sterotype but it will never happen. we will always be looked at as an odd group. no matter how many times we try to make it look we arent. with so many ignorant people in this world and followers nothing will change. i know its not the right attitude to have but im just thinking reality and not fantasy.

I agree with both of you. I am really amazed at how puritanical and close minded many people are to fetishes these days. I think "fetishes" are slowly being accepted more and more, but with the way the media likes to portray it a certain way for ratings, it will still take some time for people to "get" it.
And the funny thing is that having a foot fetish is really quite innocent compared to many other sexual activities/pleasures that people indulge in. Yet the boring, average close minded "breast" or "butt" guy thinks it's weird.

I wouldn't worry about it, the girls you,me,him whoeever get feet from and tell about our fetish don't watch dateline very much or even care about some pervert..if they get to know YOU as YOU, then they won't care if they trust you.

I didn't see this show but I don't see anything wrong with the host of the show mentioning the guy in the clip had a foot fetish. Heck there have been some men on the shows that were teachers, lawyers and rabbis and that was mentioned. Viewers then didn't make the assumption that all rabbis were pervs.
It wasn't that long ago many folks made a huge amount of assumptions about gays. The more gays come out of the closet the more folks were able to see they are no different than the rest of us .. well except for one thing LOL The more you guys .. well at least you normal guys LOL .. come out .. the more folks will know it is no big deal. Things won't get better until you guys stop feeling ashamed and dirty.

But they probably will make that assumption about foot fetishists. People aren't consistent.

*Rolls Eyes* Honestly, I think people are going to be more disturbed by the fact that he was about to molest a child. The fact that he had a foot fetish will be an after thought in the minds of most healthy, normal viewers.
And no offence, but...
To all the chicken littles, if you're tired of the media portraying the foot fetish is such a bad way, then get out there and show it off in a more positive light; quit being so "in the closet" about it.
Personal insecurity about it is just as bad as public ignorance about it.

I agree with you. With the advent and growth of internet sites and discussion groups, I think more and more people are getting exposed to it. And even though it may take years and years, eventually I believe more and more people will become tolerant, understanding and even accepting of it.

Beautiful...just beautiful, and I couldn't agree more.
I'm not saying we need to get together and march on Washington or anything like that, but we as foot loving guys need to be living, breathing, walking examples of normal heterosexuality that we are.
Look at it like this...if every single homosexual you ever saw were these leather bound, spiked up, greased up weirdo's that aren't unfamiliar with back room hi-jinks or glory holes in porn shops, gay people would STILL be hated and feared across the board to this day. Rather, we've probably all seen or worked with homosexuals that are good folks and are normal in every way to the public eye...
Also, keep in mind that Christians, at one point, were getting hunted down by Pharisee's and fed to lions by the Romans. Look at the risks the early Christians had to take...our plight is peanuts compared to that!
If Christians can risk certain death to stand up for their cause, or homosexuals can risk an ass-beating by homo-phobes, we as foot guys can surely risk an eyeroll or a nose wrinkle.

You guys are corny as all hell and make me ashamed to have this fetish. If Christians can risk certain death to stand up for their cause, or homosexuals can risk an ass-beating by homo-phobes, we as foot guys can surely risk an eyeroll or a nose wrinkle. That's the only good argument or reasonable thought I've seen on this board.
However, I'm a fucking closet-case when it comes to this fetish.

I've been saying that all along. Any girls who are upset about you having a foot fetish are shallow vapid cunts who still have yet to grow out of their unobtainable princess mentality and aren't worth the aggravation. Ignore them and move on.
Acting like a Woody Allen style neurotic won't attract any woman fetish or not. Stop feeding the machine.

Why does there have to be anything wrong with a women who has no interest in participating in foot fetish fun. Why can't it just be her preference. If she has been very cruel in telling you it's not her cup of tea then I can see how you could be hurt.

No I'm talking about girls who freak out saying "you're sick" or whatever for having a foot fetish. I can understand some girls think their feet are ugly and don't care to show them off or to have them noticed that's cool.
It's the ones who think you're in league with Michael Jackson or some kind of Uncle Chester type just for having a foot fetish I was referring to.
