at one time paypal was like godsend for new sites that wanted to start up and then ebay bought them out and soon after their stinkin moral crusade started and paypal had to start getting rid of anything that they considered mature or adult
then a quick and even long delayed wave came of legit people losing their paypal accounts for violation of terms of service.
and maybe several times throughout it seemed paypal might've flipflopped on a few occasions as to what is and is not allowed to be sold thru them WRT adult or mature content.
Anyway, I don't know where paypal stands at this particular moment WRT their authorized sellers content policy (because of changes I saw maybe like 12 months ago even), but I have always been leary of whether to invest time and effort in using them as a processor.
I would imagine many other foot webmasters who are aware of paypal's backstabbing history might also be weary of going back with them again and that might be a big roadblock as to why many sites right now do not have them for membership.
They burned me back in 2004 I believe (for a dead amatuer site that I used to run) and I have never gotten the final balance they owed me, those crooks!! I will always hate paypal for that

For that reason I don't offer paypal payment through my site but if anyone wants to, then I have a paypal account and I can sort your membership out manually

id join loads of sites if they took paypal. its easy enough to offer it without using the paypal link/logo on your site. a lot of sites i think are loosing customers by not offering it.. especially here in the uk people are avoiding joining any kid of adult site using a credit card.
operation ore arrested thousands of people who had joined regular porn sites cos their details were amongst a whole host of CP sites.... simply because the sites had the same server. look that up... its no joke. for this reason alone i wouldnt give my card details to any adult based site...not even if i knew the actual person whos site it was!... paypal is much safer anyway..no "accidental" re-billing... that also puts folk off... ive read several times on forums that people have been getting re billed month after month when they omly signed up for say 1 month.. people can say all they want about how safe their system is etc etc etc...it wont make a differance. with paypal its simple..its straightforward and safe. id gladly join genie,lexi,sugar etc etc if they would offer paypal as a method.. i certainly wouldnt give my card details to a site that has another 100 plus porn/adult telated sites on their books... not a chance.

I was looking at it for the longest time to integrate as a backup API. However their 2nd bullet on their content policy list make it about as fuzzy clear as Paypal's policies have been throughout time, so I did not want to risk losing my account and any funds held by Google either

very true and that is a great suggestion as a workaround for any foot webmaster to use.

ive joined one site before now with paypal just by emailing them.then when i payed for the month i left the payment blank...emailed em back...then i recieved my password/username... dead simple. anyone who has a site and a personal paypal account should just let us who want to pay that way know by posting on here...
dead simple...problem solved. the only reason people get their paypal accounts suspened is cos of their direct paypal banner link they have on their ADULT SITE.

spider you are correct. i have seen a few ladies loose there paypal accounts because of this. paypal does not wanna be involved with adult stuff as tyler said. so when people pay for this stuff they have the identify the reason they are sending money. also the person getting the money should not link paypal through there site. because when paypal tracks it back to the site they will suspend them.

Yeah, I think Tyler is correct here. I think PayPal got all funky with the adult content stuff. I've had a purchase from a site of a video it that person had to claim the business as something else to get around it, but I am sure even that could cause some issues if checked out.
