For all of you posters not residing in the USA, is foot fetish perceived any differently abroad i.e. better, worse or same. Please state your country of origin in your responses.
I mean here in the states there is still pretty the weird stigma attached to liking feet. It's certainly moving towards main stream acceptance, but overall, getting turned on by feet is still considered odd.
I always imagine foreigners are a little more open minded than us Yankees, particularly about nudity and sexuality, but I've never traveled abroad so for me it's just a rumor.

I´m guessing even in the USA it is different from place to place. In a progressive & open-minded college city it is likely to be more accepted than in some backwards town in a rural area.
Over here in Germany it is considered a bit weird and the topic seems to be less in the media & on TV than in the USA. I also have the impression that most German foot fetish men are more into high heels, boots & nylons, and not so much into bare feet. If you mention to Germans that you have a fetish they will always automatically think of a BDSM dungeon with a latex domina in stilleto high-heels. (although this may be an international problem )

Hmmm, interesting Hal. I do notice particularly with the German content, there seems to be definite latex, chain and whip kinda edge to a lot of it.
But maybe that's just my perception.
The women in Europe certainly seem to be more into the pointy heels and long boots IMO and less so into open toe strappy heels.
I've touched on it before, and agree whole wholeheartedly, that demographics play a major role in the perception of foot fetish. That is one reason I will never move to a small town unless I'm married to women who is 110% into satisfying me in every way. Otherwise your severely limiting your opportunities.

You´re right but I guess this has a lot to do with the climate. Only the south of Europe is warm...countries like Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, etc. are bloody cold most of the year. So boots and closed shoes are almost a necessity. I think only in Britain girls run around in open toed shoes a lot of the year (at least when they go out evenings), even though the weather mostly sucks.

Hey Hal, is it just me or does it seem to you too that European women tend to have slightly flatter feet than their American cousins? Furthermore, that European women are far less likely to paint their toenails or wear any type of foot jewelery e.g. anklets, toe rings etc., than American women?

I´m not sure about slightly flatter feet...I´ve seen my share of really high arches over here.
You are right about nail polish and foot jewellery. Although I´ve never been to the USA I believe you are more likely to see perfectly pedicured toes with foot jewellery over in the States. In Europe most women keep their feet "natural". Also, the concept of pedicure-salons has only started to develop here a few years ago, and those salons are still very expensive. Maybe if they ever lower their prices more young women will get a pedicure...not sure.

In Canada, since it's basically the same as the U.S in many ways, I feel it's perceived almost the exact same here. Not much to add to it. I find it interesting how it's slightly different in Europe though. Great thread

My husband is from New York and he said when he moved here to the UK that he thought a lot of the women just didnt take care of there feet as much as the women in NYC. I have to say it is true but then again when I stayed there for a month I was able to get weekly pedicures for $8 here women are looking at £35 which is around $63 its just terrible so I have my own kit at home to keep my peds looking peeerrrrrfect.
I think women are open everywhere its just how the guy approaches it. What woman does not want her feet rubbed after a long day at work? Or her feet kissed while being made love to? Unfortunately foot fetishists at times can come across a bit strange with the jumping into I need to SNIFF YOUR SHOES or AR E YOUR FEET STINKY its just like if a guy asked me if my tush smelt its just odd but I could get used to it if I got to know the other person like my husband he is not that into smelling but he loves tickling and he got me into it by slowly approaching it, even to the point where I like being tied up and tickled. Its just tactics at the end of the day.

I think if a chain of low price nail salons opened with a funky trendy name aimed at middle class teenage girls they would clean up here. Because the fact that the middle class girls are going there will make all the less fortunate kids want to do it as well to try and appear more "posh" its kind of like the MTV super sweet 16 generation. There are so many normal kids here now that have seen that show that drive their poor parents crazy to throw a party like that for them.
Like Yo Sushi made sushi affordable and almost fast food in the uk if there was like a Yo Nails or an Easy Nails salon where the starting price would be £8.00 up to £35+ for wraps and other things just like in NY. The problem is they charge £35 for a simple file and paint here! its ridiculous, that month when I was in the states I was so pampered I loved wearing flip flops everyday showing off my sexy toes!

I agree with what you wrote above. It´s the same over here in Germany...the prices for a simple pedicure are just way too expensive....even in the "cheap" Asian nail salons.

Its all about economics and I think its the competition in new york that just drives the prices down so considerably. Almost every block has a nail salon where here its a bit specialist. Oh well I love my home pedicure kit my hubby has invested a good amount on all my kit so I can have my own salon at home. Pamper your women fellas!

I've often felt that sexuality was more open in Europe than here. Think of all the sexy movies that came out of Europe, in the 50's to 70's. Many of them were censured, when first shown in the US!
