I suppose there is some degree of different interpretations as to what *is* foot fetishism too - putting aside whether a man fucking a girl in high heels has a fetish, only likes feet if they're in shoes/stockings has a foot fetish etc. etc. - think about whether you consider a repressed sexual urge to actually be that person's fetish if they do not actively practice it.

I feel like the people that are throwing huge numbers out there are doing it in an attempt to make themselves feel more normal. Maybe. My guess is 8%. I'd be pretty surprised at 15% and would be absolutely shocked if it's over 20.

You have no way of knowing, and I refer you back to the statistic that a quarter of the population is homosexual - that's a complete 360 on what's sexually (naturally) normal; not just an addition to biologically normal sex.

In my experience, those numbers are NOT accurate. Man, I travel the U.S., booking and shooting models for my site. I do not think that you appreciate how hard it is, not only to find talent sometimes, depending on which part of the U.S. you are talking about, but to even engage people in conversation about Foot Fetishism, much less finding other foot fetishists to talk shop, as it were while I am traveling.
I have no way of knowing, but I have a pretty damn good idea. I did a seminar one time at University of Colorado Boulder. Which is a progressive city, weed is legal, rave's are legal, etc. Out of 300 students that I was talking too, I asked how many in the audience had a foot fetish, you want to know how many raised their hand? only 20-25 people out of 300. We have numbers, but we are not many.
Mos def not 15-25 percent like other people are saying. If it were 1 in 5 people, wouldn't common sense tell you that women in general would be much more openminded about it? It's virtually impossible to tell with the information that's available. There would have to be more research to come to any conclusion.
All the anecdotal assessments, which may sound plausible might be dead wrong when assessed as part of a empirical study.
Even under strict empirical scrutiny, touchy subjects like sex often are inconclusive because people are less than forthcoming in surveys and other sampling methods (e.g. focus groups) when it comes to sex.
Anyway, I'd never lull myself into believing I had any clue what percent of the population has a foot fetish or likes having anal or lost their virginity around X age.

There is a big difference in how many men ( 20% ) really have a foot fetish, and how many of them are open about it, and freely admit it, which is a third of that number, putting it at about (7-8% ). The internet boards are the best example of this. GO TO ANY FOOT FETISH BOARD, now check the membership......pretty high!!! NOW check the posters and active members versus the lurkers, sneaks, those too ashamed to put anything out there for fear of being caught, outed, whatever you want to call it. UNDERSTAND those that are OK about their fetish, who will attend foot parties, is only a small sample of the real true figure. I do know that and am aware. How would you explain the lack of fetish parties city to city? The state of Colorado actually shut me down. Ignorant bastards that they were. Not the police, which was the interesting thing, it was the liquor board.
I know alot of people are not open about it. I am also aware that not as many are open as I am. But your right, no one can and will ever know.
But 20 percent and above the general population, even though they may be ok with kissing the feet of the woman they love every now and then, does not constitute a fetish by any stretch imho. They don't look at it like a fetishist does. It doesn't mean as much to them. It's not a "connection" with that other person.
I don't want them in the same category as I, or others on this board. They are tourists imho.

They got me for "hand on the butt in the presence of alcohol" and "flogging in the presence of alcohol", an ordinance that were meant for horses in the late 1800's, believe it or not. So the cowboys coming out of the saloons didn't get drunk and flog the shit out of their horses. I fought it, but the court ruled against me. Conservative government in Denver. I am a bit outspoken, called the judge a really bad name and almost got arrested for contempt.
So I moved to California, started doing parties in Los Angeles full time at the dungeon, when that was around, off of Melrose and Highland in Hollywood, they closed down, I decided to do adult full time and here I am. I just love my community and think that the gov has no business interfering in consenting adults doing what they do. In the 7 years I had events, I had no fights or any drama. And people have the God given right to play!

I do apologise: I thought you were referring to the global population: I was.

I would have to agree with Beautifulfeetonline.
I was randomly chosen to participate in a large survey for the Kinsey Institue back when I was in college. One of the questions asked about an attraction to feet and foot fetish.
Because I participated in the survey, they sent me the results. I believe it showed something like 3-5% of the population having a foot fetish.
I also remember that they tried to pool together a diverse group of people with different ethnic and social backgrounds, so I believe that the number is quit accurate.
I should also mention that the survey was 100% confidential, so their was no incentive to lie to avoid embarrassment.
