Last time I looked there wasn't that many on ebay, must have been a couple of years ago, but there's absolutely loads on there now.

I'm so tempted to buy some.

Has anyone else done this? how smelly were they?

Some of the descriptions sound awesome.....

Big waste of your money. The sellers will tell you that the shoes have a "very strong smell" but when you get them....nothing!

Plus you wonder if the're really from the person or did they go out to some used clothing shop and buy them to only resale them.

Ah thanks for the replies guys.

People now have disclaimers saying that the shoes will be washed before sending e-mail for details [Wink] and also that the pictures are for illustrative purposes only (yeah right!)

So maybe they could be legit as well?

But thanks for the tip!

I actually met a girl in 2000 on ebay when I searched for "well worn womens socks." I searched, in the criteria, for 100 miles from my home and BAM, there she was. I emailed her thinking there was no way in hell she would meet with me but she did! And I still see her to this day. Actually she's a pretty good friend. She briefly opened up a "sock store" online but said it was too much trouble. I was the first guy she ever "met" with but she went on to meet with plenty of guys.

That experience alone has me checking back every month or so but.....yeah for the most part it's either a bunch of hokesters or chics that buy shoes at thrift stores and take pics of their feet in them to try and sell them. Just my thoughts

Anyone in NYC who bought stuff from be back in the day met me at a coffee shop and got their stuff handed to them. :-).

Ebay helped a lot by stating clearly that

1. it is a prohibited biological item, nor should be listed as fetish
2. no above the knee or dangling photos, shoe must be on the foot do demo the product.
3. must be cleaned with god knows what that's possibly more toxic than the original (and must say so in auction).
4. No personal references to the seller - cannot write, "these are my everyday work shoes".

Then began _the fun_, people that were doing well on ebay, were being targeted and flagged by the competition of the same sellers as they, so these "sellers" helped to mess each other up. It went all the way to sellers buying each others items just to post their real names and addresses in their next auction listings, it was silly.

PayPal was going to become broke, eBay bought PayPal and spread it's 'gospel' of 'acceptable' through PayPal policies, so even if eBay did not want to come out and say "You cannot list that!" - PayPal would just make sure to freeze your money for 6 months or more for one reason or another.

PayPal started freezing peoples accounts for selling anything "Adult", so I'm still unsure how those DVD shops in the "Everything Else" -> "Adults Only" category take payments.

VISA surprised everyone with their HIGH-RISK categories, on which PayPal followed suit to further quell any adult related business.

Basically "Everything Else -> Adults Only" is now filled with auction spam from places unknown, or a once-in-a-while new comer who confused it for the place it used to be.

Funny as it may seem, Ebay and Paypal are responsible according to a recent IC3 report for most online money fraud, None of it has anything to do with adult items from that %0.001 of sock/shoe sellers.

So basically anyone *real*, selling fetish items, went over to e-banned, so did their audience, eBanned decided to upgrade their systems once, crashing the site for weeks, during that time most went back to eBay, but then returned to eBanned along with their "audience" - who do their one handed typing type of window shopping there.

In 2000 no-one did any of that yet, not even in 2005 or 2006. In 2011 the real fun will begin when the pay-card IRS law goes in effect.

Goddess Melanie, thanks for the very informative post. I have never checked out e-banned but I will do so shortly. I've had some big time problems with Paypal, and what is this new pay card IRS law? I googled it but only found a few articles saying you could "pay your taxes with a debit card."

By the way, your toes are adorable.

Early beginning is 2008 - Don't know why they needed an new LAW.

Form 1099-K assures that IRS will "automatically" recieve transaction records, even if it's for your own personal property, not sold at a gain. The burden of proof after the gross 1099-K report about original purchase price, auction listing fees, shipping costs will be on the seller, sometimes for amounts not worth filing a P&L over.

No matter how they want to dress this up, the mega-merchants on eBay have always paid taxes, reported them accurately more or less and were set up as businesses, this targets individuals whom sell their household items at a loss. I'm certain it will expand further to lesser thresholds in the coming years.

P.S. Thanks for the complement.
