I actually got the opportunity to try that position once many years ago.

Maybe its a mind thing. Its the pressure of both feet together and wrapped around the penis that helps with the friction. Unless you have long toes (like Myself), then its going to be very difficult to produce the right amount of pressure with just one foot.
