After reading a few threads I thought it would be a neat little read, and perhaps even help me and some other of my photographer/webmaster friends, to read things that you all like to see in your photos AS WELL AS things that you don't like to see. Was thinking instead of seeing this turn into a "sole/toe/arch" debate, I want to make this about things OTHER THAN your favorite part(s) of the foot to see showcased.
This being said, even though I run Soles of Silk and do all the photos, I am still a HUGE fan of this community and many, many foot sites. So I'm going to start this thread off with my three and three. Please keep this 3/3 and not get things out of hand. And please, no bashing sites/models you might not enjoy.
LIKES: - Funky pedicures and nail polish colors - sure red, pink, and the French Pedi are nice, but I see them all the time
- Variation of locations instead of the same couch in 28/30 sets - even throwing in props or blanket, etc. can spruce things up some, or move the furniture around and shoot at different angles
- Girls/sets that don't look posed - meaning, they look like they're enjoying themselves and not just paid to be sitting in some studio somewhere
DISLIKES: - Girls wearing sunglasses in the photos - gives me the feeling they're not really wanting to do the photos and are hiding, even if it is super sunny
- Fisheye/wide angle photos all the time - sometimes it is really neat, but when over used, it is distracting
- SUPER huge photos - yes, I know in the era of 5 billion mega pixel cameras and HD, people want to see bigger photos, but if all I can see is the toering on the screen, I can't enjoy it

Patrick, first of all, your site rocks. I have waited and waited and finally got entrance to your site and am very happy. So, I am still a modest photographer and I was a website owner. My 3/3.
Likes:
-girls that smile or look like they are having a fun time with the camera.
-Shots of the girls doing food shots or squishing food with their feet or toes
-pictures of the feet tops, toe spreads and scrunches from the top are my favorite
Dislikes:
-male body parts in the pictures (feet, dick, face, hands, anything like that)
-feet not taken care of. I know that some people like to see rough and calloused soles, I know that some people like to see really long nails, that are several inches long. I know that some people like to see bruises and blemishes on feet, but not me.
-lighting, hearing endless stories from my wife(a professional photographer) at how some photographers don't do lighting that well is true with some foot fetish pictures. Seeing the most sexy foot ever in the universe in poor lighting can not that sexy. Having a good studio, several lightstands, maybe a ring flash or even a few strobes would help to make even the ugliest feet, sexy.

here here on the 5 billion megapixel thing, lol. My latest set has the Famous Burlesque Dancer Miss Bee, but in her defense, she is 48 years old and had a corneal abrasion at the time of me shooting her earlier this month.
1.) Variation, not just in location, but in poses, facial expressions, amount of clothing the model wears, etc.
2.) Good lighting.
3.) Intriguing backgrounds. Obviously, I focus on the feet, but if the studio space is decorated in an interesting or unique way, it makes the set more interesting to me. Not a requirement, but it's nice to see.
Dislike:
1.) Tiny photos. I want to see feet in my face, and tiny photos don't do it for me. They don't have to be 5000 pixels (what can I say, my monitor isn't that damn big), but they do have to be bigger than 1024x768 for me to enjoy them fully. Hello, it's 2011, not 2004. Back in 2004, that size was not only acceptable, it was damn near revolutionary.
2.) Small photosets. Any set that has fewer than 45 pictures is "small" to me. Not every set has to be over 100, but 60-75 is a good number to me.
3.) Lack of variation in poses.

Good stuff so far everyone. This wasn't meant as any kind of attack on anyone, or any sites. I just had some comments in other threads about how people like to see the footwear that just came off left in other photos. Sparked the idea of likes/dislikes and putting them all in one area. Think I and others might find some of these things handy.

this thread caught my attention. i have been recording a LOT of feet in the past month and some of the likes and dislikes hit home for me. i noticed my couch is in probably half my videos even tho i have dozens of girls. im still working on it. is there an appropriate place to link my films here?

Piggybacking on what several of you said...
Likes: 1) Model smiling, having fun, relaxed.
2) Variety of locations, poses, pedicures, types of clothing.
3) Some footwear shots in addition to bare feet, meaning for me, Sandals and flip-flops.
Dislikes: 1) Feet not t well taken care of (dirty is OK if they're still well cared for)
2) Poor lighting- ruins more photos and videos than anything else.
3) Huge photos. This frustrates me even with this site because I do most of my Wu's perusing at work with my phone. But even on my desktop I don't need to see their pores.

i Love that particular pose when the model peels off her leather flats, sneakers, or socks and we see half the foot - absolutely makes me almost smell their feet here at home.
im also a big fan of interesting usage of props, objects, and location in a shoot. definitely ads flavor.
sole pose with the toes pointing downward. ima say the upside down sole pose, u can see all the curves of the foot and calvs and ass. i love the cutesie look on a models face but this updown pose alerts my more animal insticts
dislikes: sets that allow absolutely no glimpse of the soles but plenty of tops and heels, and vice versa. i know sometimes there can only be so much in a promo set but cmon, soles and not toes? toes and no soles? at least one of each. please.
i concur on unreasonably large photos, do u know how hard it is to look at a picture that size on a blackberry curve? well now think about trying to jerk off while scrolling up and down and when ur ready to finish u didnt realize theres no more photos.
Cankles... ive experience some great feet which are attached to cankles but could u please not do poses which really emphasize the cankle? tops, front, tips, toes. soles, arches. just please refrain from to much close up on the heel if u know the leg just keeps going til theres a sole and makes a point of bypassing any actual ankle.
my dislikes are more about convenience while my likes are more about taste

Pictures shot with a crappy camera, noise pixilation, lack of sharp detail, poor lighting, anonymous feet, small photos under 2000 pixels... We're more than a decade into the 21st century now. Inability to view the entire image is a browser failure. Most browsers can load the whole image to fit the screen, and also zoom for the "in your face" perspective; the best of both worlds.
Standard definition video. Anything less than full HD is simply outdated.
Webmasters who don't understand and ask for requests. Most replies typically come from a vocal minority with differing opinions. That's why it's most important for producers to have their own ideas. Producers who don't have any talent scouting skills, and only know how to find models through ads, agencies, and modeling sites, but most of the best new girls cannot be found through any site, agency, or ad; only in person.
1] Visible, out of the shoe, foot skank (or, more politely, a patina that indicates a pleasant female foot smell). 2] A foot shape that is suitable to me (which I won't elaborate on now). 3] Candid sole shots (if for now other reason that it exposes soles that may otherwise never be seen).
Dislikes:
1] Feet in food. 2] Self worship. 3] A chick that is modeling her feet and shooting the viewer the finger.

Wow, great topic and I must borrow some pet peeves others have mentioned that I didn't know I had:
Likes:
1. A certain amount of care and give a damn in setting up/taking the photos. 30 photos where the next photo in line just moves the foot one inch to the left doesn't do it for me. Photos that look exactly the same should be subtracted from the set's picture count.
2. Great light.
3. Shoes in at least a couple of shots (for sites that don't just specialize in soles). Or few sets with a high concentration of shoes every once in a while.
Dislikes:
1. The wide angle lense thing..thanks Patrick. 2. Flipping the bird is a joke; don't get it. We are not all subs. Good cal aka.footjoyboy 3. Small pics. Others have explained it well.
