I do some security work as well...so I understand how regular sites such as pirates bay floods your system with all sorts of malware.
Could run a web browser sandboxed. Not tried Tor yet to see how that works.
I am not looking for illegal open...just curious what else is out there.
Is it safe to say deep or dark web is just regular websites...they maybe hard to locate, right? There isn't some weird port or password sites to go through

About 5 or somewhat years ago, I remember watching youtube reaction videos of people watching "2 Girls 1 Cup" and what-not, which made me curious. So I had to go digging for the video to see what the fuss was all about. Discusting enough, it led me to others as "BME pain olympics" and "1 man 1 jar"... etc. I tried to build some sort of tolerence to handle gruesome stuff but I found out that I do have a limit and some things you just can't 'unsee' . I reached my limit and said "FUCK THIS!!!". All I know is that there is a lot of sick shit out there and that I'm glad I haven't come across 'deep web' stuff in the "surface web" so far.
No thank you, I do not wish to see what is in the "Deep Web". If a pair of hot feet went down there, I ain't following if you catch my drift

Interesting topic. Have heard it mentioned and wondered if it was fact or urban legend.
I'm a little surprised that I've never seen this addressed before and VERY surprised that the membership here is as mystified by it as I am, an interwebs neophyte.

I love gruesome stuff! I showed two girls one cup to a friend of mine while he was eating chocolate cake, lol. The only two things I can't handle are child porn and rape videos. Absolutely chills my spine. I could hardly watch The Last House on the Left, and that's a mainstream movie! But, as ucflyeah said, 3 or 4 posters advising against the deep web is enough for me to stay away.

I can tell you that with my time in the deep web was a new experience, as things are somewhat different. There's a lot of stuff on there that you'd never see on the regular web. Anything and everything you can imagine, and things you probably wouldn't want to, can be found on there. While you ARE anonymous while browsing, you do open yourself to more computer threats than you would by conventional means. If you're looking just for foot content and fun, happy hunting. I wouldn't recommend it though.
As for 2 girls and a cup, that was hilarious. One man and one jar, now that's horribly disgusting.

I've been trying to ignore this topic after googling it but I must say, I'm damn curious. Not curious enough to risk fucking my iMac up but I do have an old laptop. My questions are: is it just violent images and videos? and child porn? Obviously, these are things I have no interest in seeing. But are there other things like better articles, more pics of pretty feet, better savings on sales from stores?
violent pics and vids are kind of the tip of the iceberg. some things aren't really labeled correctly so you can click on child porn and not even know it. that danger alone is enough to keep most people away but if you are brave enough to keep clicking links there are things there that you wouldn't think to exist.

Hey solebrotha...thanks for the info. The weird gay/bi thing is quite bizzare and certainly not my thing. The other porn thing you mentioned I certainly don't want and would rather not gain that attention!
