Are flip flops a dead fashion trend? I don’t see too many people wear them anymore.

Summer is just starting up and it’s been colder in my area than normal. When the weather is warm, I see flip flops all over the place.

Yeah I meant as a fashion trend. Not simply people not wearing flip flops because it’s cold outside.

Now that I think about it, it doesn't seem that flip flops used to be as popular as they used to be. they aren't necessarily the go-to choice for sandals it seems.

Maybe due to COVID, people haven't been getting pedicures so they are embarrassed to show off their feet in flip flops. After they start getting pedicures again they might start wearing flip flops again.

i really have no clue. i just feel like I see less of them, more people wearing sandals with straps at the ankles, etc. i could be totally wrong

I went shopping a couple days ago whilst I was at the laundromat. It's winter here (Melbourne Australia) and it's pretty cold. However I saw a couple women in flip flops. One of them were in black flip flops and had pretty blue polish.

I don't think so. I went to a grocery store recently and saw at least two girls wearing flip flops.

I don't know if something is in the water, or what. But all I see are dudes walking around wearing them. It used to be when you heard that wonderful sound, you immediately looked for the source. Nowadays, you dread that sound because you know it's some feminine dude wearing them.

Those and man sandals or sports slides.

No joke, I have to avert my eyes because I see more dudes showing their feet and toes than girls! Girls have gone the opposite route, and have become sneakerheads! Girls are hiding their feet in records numbers, and dudes are doing the exact opposite.

This world has gone to heck in a handbasket!!!
